Since there's no up to date version of Oblivion Lost Remake on ModDB, we've decided to upload the latest version (with fix 33.11) with the latest English translation (updated by me) already included. All in one download!
Oblivion Lost Remake is one of the absolute best S.T.A.L.K.E.R. mods: essentially it is a faithful recreation of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Oblivion Lost, the game that GSC had to cut down and transform into Shadow of Chernobyl. Glorious, much improved level design, a different and longer version of the story, truly deadly anomalies, new mutants, this is one of the utmost immersive and atmospheric FPS experiences one can have.
This is a repack. It doesn't require any of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games and there's no installer, just unpack it (preferably to a drive other than C:/), run the configurator as an admin, and then play by launching OLR_launcher as an admin.
BE SURE TO RUN THE CONFIGURATOR BEFORE PLAYING! IF POSSIBLE, DO NOT INSTALL IT ON THE C DRIVE! (though it may still work there)

IS oblivion Lost like Lost aplha or something. I mean whole locations from LA. And is it standlone?
I haven't played Lost Alpha in some years, So I can't remember the difference.
Some of the areas are similar, the storylin.e is a bit different than LA, if I remember correctly.
It is Stand alone, the documents and screenshots are a good help to get it installed. I played a little over an hou today, no problems yet. :)
LA is retarded fanfic. OLR on the other hand is as close as you will ever get to playing the absolute, original, Stalker vision of the developers. Nothing else out there comes even close. It is the peak of atmosphere, quest and level design. It completely trashes other "famous" mods like OGSE, AA and other overrated crap. Unfortunately 99% of western stalker fans never played OLR.
LA, is still good in my opinion. Granted it has been a couple of years since I played it last time.
However, this is excellent, and i know they were pressured to cut, and cut, and get the game released in am amputated version. What I do not understand is why they used so much energy/time on redesigning the levels.
The levels in OLR, are far superior. I haven't been to all levels yet, but what I have seen are nice.
I would like it very much if someone had the time, skill, and energy to create an add-on with updated graphics, and weapon models.
My Windows Defender complains that the un-installer is a virus? Anyone else have that issue?

Yes, but this is normal. There's even a readme included about it, the devs claim it is a false positive and from what I've seen and heard they're telling the truth.
I just finished playing this a month ago, however, I'd love to replay it once you release your personal addon.

I need help please with the bunker scientist request. Watching a walkthrough in Russian, it looks like to fulfill the quest, you need 4 items. I have the detector thing found at x18 and the apartment at "dead city" (can't remember the name in the game, and the artifact that looks like the compass in base COP, but I can't identify what the 4th item is.

Whoops, I accidentally removed it from the main download it looks like (minimap remover is to be an addon). You should be able to fix it by deleting gamedata\config\ui\zone_map files but back them up just in case).
The makarov lost its weaponbob for some reason :E

Did someone know about a guide for this Game? I'm stuck with the last Doctor's quest, it's about information about the faction of the zombie-like guy in the swamp.

OLR 3.1 and OLR 2.5 are very different mod and not the same.
When i play the game, the minimap in the left upper corner of the screen doesn´t show up. How can i fix it?
I have 2 questions abt this build: A possible sound bug, and can you repair armor / weapons in this mod.
For my sound bug, I'm using relic windows Vista 64bit lol. The game works well, full maxed graphic settings doesn't cause any lag or graphic glitch, gameplay wise everything works with no bugs. Except for the sound..
Whole audio in game somehow stutters or echoes..from main menu music, every in game music, video cutscenes and intro, gunshots to mutant sound, dialogs..basically the entire audio in game seems "laggy" or delayed a bit..
Does anyone know a fix of this or maybe have similar problem?

A bit lost here while playing the game:
Chrome has given me a task to turn of a radiation field set up by some scientists. He says that the source is: "A house that's left to one to one of the roads at Silent Hills."
I have been to all houses at Silent Hills. But i can't find the location.
Is there some error in the translation?
I did bump into the Zombified Stalker, and got his cat back to him.
And I found the dead scientists in the attic in the nearby house, triggering the Military team to arrive.
But where the h*ll is the house I am looking for??
House with the machine to deactivate radiation is in the corner of the map near the fence. To the left of the road exit to Silent Hills.

Is this the most current updated version in English? I am asking because at the gameru.net page you have linked above shows "FIXX 38 ENGLISH" as a download file, and the download file is called "OLR25_update_19to38_eng_r044." Your file description says that this English mod is to "Fix 33.11," so it sounds like the file on the gameru.net page is newer, at Fix 38. Is that correct, and, if so, do I download the two FIXX 19 compilation files on that site first and add their FIXX 38 English?
The answer, I discovered, is yes. Download the two parts to the main game and the patch. Install the main game, then the patch, then run the configurator, then finally run the game. Works great!
Where can I find the family rifle for the loner at the Bar? He said it was in a house full of bloodsuckers by the factory, but I've been all over that place, and cannot find any such house. Thanks.
It's not in the factory map, it's in the same level as the bar, the "factory" area north of the level where the barkeep gives you quests to go kill bloodsuckers there. In one of the buildings with the beds there is a skeleton and a shotgun in the far corner if I remember correctly. That's where you will find it

How to get it to work without the configurator? I'd like to know because I play STALKER standalone mods with the Steam Overlay enabled and yes, I already have Steam running as admin.
man this mod is terrible. I dont see how people can even play it. there is so much quest information missing it is literally impossible to complete half the game. and you'd better pray you remember the npc you were talking to who gives the quest information because it disappears directly afterwards and no longer shows up in your pda. terrible mod. terrible economy too. the quests that do have any information are often flat out wrong to boot, quests will not be in the map they say they are. even overlooking all of this, maps are dead areas with zero respawn, once cleared it is nothing but a walking simulator. mutants are bullet sponges too. thats easy enough to deal with because your characters run speed is great, but still, this mod has terrible design choices in many aspects and should only be considered a novelty.
The english translation is solid. Quests give you enough information, none of them are "wrong". Get used to actually exploring by yourself without your little magical compass, pussy.
Also enemies DO respawn, just not in every map. If you actually played beyond Cordon you would know that. You also claim the mutants are bullet sponges even though weapons damage is significantly higher than vanilla SoC, which tells me your aim is ****.

It's been a great game so far, but it seems that I'm stuck. Two missions: one is to free the three ecologists held by Sin, but I need three heads to give them. However, whenever I kill someone, I can't take their heads, so I've no idea what to do. The second mission is for the Freedom leader, who asks me to turn off a device that emits radiation, and he said it is located in Silent Hills in a house "to the left of the road," and "you can tell from all the dead grass around it that has turned brown." But, there is so such place there, and I've been in every building. Any help is appreciated!
In the event anyone else has these issues, here's how I solved them. The "three heads" the sin captor wants are three of the "deaths head" artifacts. There's one upstairs in the Sin headquarters, one can be found early in the game (can't remember where), and a third can be found in the small vehicle park next to the Ecologists' lab in Lake Yantar. As for the Freedom leader's task, you need to be sure not to do it until you find the Strong Gravitational Artifact for the professor in Yantar, who will then give you the task to see the Freedom Leader to find one of the prototype psi-blockers. To find the house, it is NOT in Silent Hills, but you go down the road from the Freedom headquarters, then turn left at the last road, and go as far as you can, cross a small creek, and you'll see two houses up on a hill. The device is in one of them.

Boredgunner already answered how to bring it back but for those who might have missed it here is the tip :
- Go to Oblivion Lost Remake\gamedata\config\ui
- Delete zone_map.xml and zone_map_16.xml
