Red Alert: A Path Beyond brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Red Alert to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1996 classic, while integrating content from its expansions Counterstrike and The Aftermath with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?
This is a picture taken by one of our testers who
was running the newly incorporated Shaders.
The image is of an allied ore truck mining just
outside the allied base. The Advanced Powerplant
and Ore Refinery smoke stacks are visible through
the mist. A Mobile Gap Generator was nearby, which
is causing the grey smoky cloud to hide the base
from prying soviet eyes.
bit heavey on the mist, amazing work however
Thank god the bases don'thave stationary GapGen's..
Don't be so sure :V
TKAzA, the mist is the resulting effect of a Gap Generator, it's a structure (or unit for the mobile gap gen) in the game which creates a black sphere around the unit, blocking the view from the outside. If an enemy enters the gap gen field, they see lots of fog, but friendly units see normally. It was designed by the allies as a primitive cloacking device, to hide importaint structures or units in an attacking force from soviet watchmen.
Mobille gap gens can be used in attacking forced to great effects, as the soviets do not know what is inside the cloud, it could be a decoy, or it could contain a demolition truck.
interesting..
that pic looks so real like from a movie or something'
nice
