Here is an alternate soundtrack for Quake gameplay that is free from copyright claim, so you can use it for streaming and gameplay videos. This contains original compositions by Immorpher inspired by Quake 64 and two remasters of Aubrey Hodges' Quake 64 soundtrack. In general the Quake 64 soundtrack was dark and moody, thus if you want this experience in Quake, this alternate soundtrack may be for you! Much of the music here has appeared in Quake mods such as SMEJ1, SMEJ2, Alkaline, Greenwood's Alternative Quake Music Pack, and more.

So this wont work if you play Quake music off a CD. But it will work for community source ports and the official rerelease.
