Hi, hope someone can help me.

I have just cleared the first mission, and every time I try to leave the hospital the game just crashes to the desktop (sometimes with desktop intact, sometimes the whole desktop interface disappears). I am running Ubuntu 11.10 32-bit with the non-free nVidia video drivers.

I've just tried in in Win7 64-bit pro, and I get the same problem...

Hm,

Does it give you an error message?

Hi Toploader.

Under Linux, it just crashes to the desktop without warning when launched through the desura client. I will check from a shell later to see if there are any messages printed on the console.

Under Win7 64 bit it crashes with an Unexpected Error message box. There wasn't even an Unreal engine error box, so I can't even tell where it crashed.

I have tried reducing all settings under Performance to minimum for everything and set the resolution to 640x480 to see if it was a resource issue, but still got the same crash. I'm beginning to wonder if my PC is an edge case as I understand AW has some random crash issues, but this is consistently reproducible for me so IDK :/

Yeah this is the first time in 6 years I've heard of this problem, and what's really odd is you are getting exactly the same thing with both windows and Linux.

With any luck, it's crashing at the end of the Hospital map, and not whilst loading the 2nd map, so you could give this a try as a cheap work around.

Open the game, and from anywhere (either ingame, or even from the main menu) Press the ` key (above tab) or it might even be the ' key (near right shift) to open the games console.

This will load you into the second map as if you got there via playing the first map. The downside is you won't have any weapons or health you collected in the first map, but you could always use some cheats to balance that out if needed.
