Hey there random reader! Thank you for checking out our news update! In this update we have a video of some of our first animations for the HQ and the Zeppelin. As well as some other cool art and an update on our progress. If you want to learn more about No Man's Land, click here!
Zeppelin Spawning
This animation features the Zeppelin unit spawning from the HQ with some custom sound effects. Each unit will have a large variety of catchphrases that they will randomly say when they are spawned.
Sub Machine Gun Grunt
This is an illustration of the sub machine gun grunt, another infantry unit in No Man's Land. This unit will be cheap, fast, and have a pretty high DPS. However, tanks will still steamroll them. So spawn wisely!
Development Progress
Since our last update, things have progressed very well! We have finished the programming for spawning units and some basic AI. All of the level assets for the gameplay demo are completely finished. The only thing left to model is the Mech. Currently, it is just various limbs, but they look pretty dang cool. We also have completed much more music and sound effects to add a ton of polish to the game.
Thank you all for the support, please share our page with your friends if you like what you see. Keep gaming and have a fantastic weekend!
I still think an Options menu should be in this demo so people can adjust graphics if they need to...
Unless it's going to be a closed Demo, in which case you'll probably pick people with PCs you know can run it. I'm just saying it would be nice to do that though...Also adjust volume for music and sound effects...
You gotta keep in mind. This is a Tower Defense game. Tons of bullets and monsters and towers and (assumingly) beautiful backgrounds are going to be going off! xD
Anyway, definitely looking forward to that beta, though. The concept art is just too good to not give this a try. =)
Don't get me wrong, we think optimization is important too! We will definitely try to implement options settings, no worries. And thanks, I'm glad you enjoy the art!
What exactly is the tube on the sub-machinegun grunt feeding into the gun. Coolant? Ammo? :P
Either way I love the art, both the concept and the animations! Keep it up!
Basically a place to store the intensely hot steam that powers the propulsion of the bullets. The backpack is filled with water that is heated up to create the vapor, this is the energy source used to make the weapon go boom. I don't claim to be an engineer or anything, but that was my logic when I was painting it haha. And thank you, the entire team appreciates it!
I approve of ze German Uniform, Ja!
But still, why does the MP 38 only have a gas tank with a hose on it? Looks less steampunked than the rest of the uniform...
Yeah, good point! I think I might actually make a concept of a more steampunk SMG.
