Yeah i hate it too when in the game you are a disembodidnt hand holding a gun.

Actually a lot of FPS games now, minus CoD, have been doing this, I don't know what crap you've been playing o.O

FEAR and left 4 dead 1 did as well, all that aside, this looks like a well done feature!

It made me cry how there's no feet in L4D2

Chronicles of Riddick, Mirrors Edge, and Crysis come to mind, and there are some games that show your shadow, but nothing else (Quake 3, Battlefront, and I think Rainbow Six: Vegas.)

both, body, shadow, are shown in the first FEAR game.

it's called breed

pretty cool game in some things, like, the millions of vehicles to use, the fact that if you run out of ammo you can ask your fellas for some, and in the multiplayer, every character from whatever team has it's own set of arms and body

but the game itself is rather ******

The viewpoint of your average FPS isn't exactly attached to where your eyes are in real life (Usually it's placed a bit in front of it).

This is because, in real life, your field of view is around 140-180 degrees, instead of the default 75 of Half Life 2. This means you see less of your surrounding.

ArmA is targeted to a specific audience. Maybe you are just not that audience.

maybe its because ArmA aims for RTS realism. Others unfortunately rather prefer games with science or historical fictional creation (e.g. Wolfenstein(2010)). Still enjoyable though.

Far Cry 2 for the win!
By 'Far Cry 2', I mean 'every FPS but HL2'.

And Battlefield, but they make that less noticable by restricting your sight.

Doubt it, since Source has no mirrors. You may be able to see yourself in the water, but if the developer modeled only the legs and a torso, that would look really cheesy.

Source actually does have realtime mirrors

Really? I need to see this. Can you point me to a mod or video showcasing mirrors?
