In a world where, if you had lead a good life, you would have a fast trip to the next stage of existence. Manuel Calavera, a lost soul who didn't get his golden ticket to heaven but got a proposition... work towards his ascension by being a travel agent in The Land of the Dead. But something is very wrong... he discovers that either he is given all the clients which had lead evil lives (and therefore would have to wait a very long time to reach the next stage) or that someone is holding back on all of the good cases that would speed up Manuel's ascension. Fed up with this, Manuel decides to find out what exactly is going on. Is there something going on with the free passes (that very good people get)? And if so, who is behind it? And why?
Grim Fandango is a dark comedy neo-noir adventure game. You must converse with other characters and examine, collect, and use objects correctly to solve puzzles in order to progress.

mouse mod has been available for a quite a while now.
turns it into a point n click.
The last version i downloaded was:
grim mouse 0.7.zip
and don't forget u can run the game in 'Residualvm'.
so it will work on modern comps.

Graphical enhancement is nice, but what was really wrong with this otherwise awesome game was the control system - it was just all over the place. They tried to make a 'modern' adventure game with a directly controllable character, but it was stuck within the limitations of the fixed camera world of pre-rendered point'n'click gameplay. It made the game incredibly annoying at times, especially when the camera location jumped.
I'd really love to see a remake with a fully controllable character and camera in a realtime 3D world, like most modern third-person action/adventures - it would be as awesome as Doublefines Psychonauts and Stacking.
Good old LucaArts... I miss you. :/
