Faceless is a Greenlit Supernatural Mystery on the Unreal Engine 4 which sees players attempting to survive alone, or with up to three friends in Wakeland City to try and find Daniel North. Having followed his documents, the players must find Dolls in each location and deliver them to the Ritual Zones to set the trapped souls within free, thus completing Daniel's quest and bringing the survivors one step closer to learning his whereabouts. Upon burning all the Dolls, The wounded Soulrender will be forced to depart from the immediate area... But not until after it has frantically tried to stop you.
We're still here! Our apologies for the silence as of late. We have recently overcome a game-breaking bug that put a lot of stress on development, it caused many crashes on our end, and without it being removed, it would've also caused a lot of crashes on your end too. But now that this bug has been resolved, we can finally continue with finishing our Short Story before moving development back to the main game. Thank you again for your continued support and patience.
Aaayh!
Thanks for the update.
If it means the game will be better, then I certainly forgive your silence. :)
We had this pesky little bug involving an object that would cause a crash on our end if we ever interacted with it or closed the map, this led us to grow suspicious that we might not even be able to compile the map upon completion or that it may lead to crashes client-side when they try to close the short story. Ultimately, we copied everything over into a new map aside from this one actor and then re-assigned all the missing references (We're still in the process of fixing some references) so that we can progress forwards. If there's one thing this delay has done, that's definitely the improvement of the short story, both in gameplay, appearance and performance.
It's worth the wait, still looking forward to this.
Doesn't look like most generic horror games out there, looking good!
