Beta 1 release
Beta 1 of the mod is now released. To my knowledge, everything is working fine, but I haven't tried every race extensively. Make sure to leave feedback if (or when) you find something that isn't working properly! One thing that you should be on the lookout for is abilities that are missing, this can happen for some units if two abilities occupy the same button due to how things are set up in taskbar.lua.
Known issues
- "Change players" mode isn't working
- Long unit names makes the unit title card cluttered
- Damage numbers in tooltip for squad weapon upgrade is missing
- Ranged damage number may in some cases be too long for the current taskbar texture
- New UI reveals a summoning-ability for Adeptus Mechanicus Archmagos that has no icon or description.
Other things I'm not quite pleased with
Note that I am a novice modder, so there may be solution to these issues that I'm not aware of. I'm aiming to modify as few files as possible with this mod to make it easier to keep up to date when there's a new update to Unification mod, and some compromises have been done with this in mind.
- Build-ability in AbilityIcon05. Redux mod uses AbilityIcon01, which is more convenient of aesthetically pleasing, but if the builder-unit has abilities, these will also use the same position. I have changed this back to AbilityIcon01 for the factions that has a FreeUI entry that allows me to do so.
- Tyranid influencebar has been replaced with the bloodbar from World Eaters. This is because it doesn't require me to adapt the rest of the texture for it to work.
- There are no custom skins for races apart from what is included in the current version of Redux mod. If you make a skin for a race, I would happily include it in the mod!
- This isn't the final iteration of Redux UI. As Eranthis makes updates to his UI, I will make sure to include them in the mod.
Credits
All credits go to the people behind the original mods, Eranthis' Redux mod, the team behind Unification mod and all the race mods that it consists of. My own work has mainly consisted of copying and pasting the code written by Miros, Gambit and many others.
