Blaze is a retro/minimalistic styled sci-fi first person flight/shooter action game. The game can be played almost single handedly with just mouse. It's about shooting a lot of alien things (in semi-randomized missions?). The alien things are trying capture all your base, and have already captured at least half of it. You have to defend the base and capture the alien controlled areas back. Or something like that...
Trying it ingame. Changed the shoulder/back things into some chemical canister backpack and added that weapon. I think I'll use those earlier shoulder things for some other monster.
They come in two different colors and could shoot different stuff. So the green one could shoot slime and the red one could shoot flame. They probably don't appear next to each other. The green should appear in places with slime, and the red in places with lava.
Yea, it's not animated yet. I was thinking I'd make one more monster and then start animating/polishing them.
Looks pretty cool. Like a zenomorph in armor with that big head. Spikes on the back might look more menacing. Any chance they can have emoticons over their visors? Quality work.
Think they'll just have these blank shiny visors. Yea, I'll return those spike/cylinder things from the earlier version to another enemy.. which will probably be some fast moving xenomorph type enemy.
Seems like this unit is developing along the lines of a heavy weapon / special weapon monster.
My new trick - size up the existing model 150% - 180% and add special attacks for a "boss" version. I've done this so far with ogres, scraggs, shalrath, centroids, and spawn. Makes single player more fun.
Heh, kinda what I'm doing for the next model.
