Beyond Evolution is a short platforming experience/game that is based on a changing environment. While the world seems pretty natural in the beginning, it will shift towards a more metallic and fantasy like style. The overall look with its colors and contrasty approach is very important and sets this experience apart.
Hey there and a good day to you. I am proud to announce version 1.1 of Beyond Evolution that now features some sound-fx to deepen the immersion.
Also thanks to the upgrade to Unreal Engine 4.24 raytracing has been improved and should now work smoother and be more stable.
A bigger new feature is the benchmark mode with four different settings to chose from. It's a great way to test your system, especially if you're using NVidia RTX cards (or perhaps RDNA 2.0 in the future).
So have fun and enjoy the update!
Dave

Let's get one thing out of the way: the landscape is absolutely stunning. The visuals felt very cohesive and immersive and it was a kind of breath of fresh air.
However, where the game stops dead for me is the sound design. Moving and jumping doesn't feel satisfying when you don't have the footsteps to tell you precisely when you landed. Getting upgrades doesn't feel satisfying because there's no auditory cue that tells me that something spectacular happened. I don't know where to jump next because I don't hear the soundscape of the platforms moving. This game has your eyes immersed so well. You need to complete the package with your ears as well.
Hey cc-composer, thanks for your constructive criticism. I took your advice and added a few sound-fx to the game (Version 1.1). While it may not be the best implementation (due to time constraints) it should be much better. And thanks again for your feedback, much appreciated!
