Dear fellow Star Wars fans,

As some of you may already know, our Star Wars: BattleCry game is doing extremely well and even made it to rank 1:
Moddb.com

Despite this, we still need more:

  • ANIMATORS AND CODERS! (VERY IMPORTANT!)
  • SKILLED ENVIRONMENTAL ARTISTS (ALSO VERY IMPORTANT!) - we want to have Hoth and a few other big maps completed by the end of next year so we need as much help as we can get!
  • Texture artists,
  • 2D artists - menu screens, HUDs, etc.

WE CURRENTLY HAVE ENOUGH 3D MODELLERS AND MUSICIANS. WE WILL LET YOU KNOW IF AND WHEN WE NEED MORE!

Requirements:

Coders: C++ and/or Lua. Exception if for example they have used C# a lot with Unity or used UnrealScript a lot).

Animators: Animating humanoids, mostly. Software: Max or Maya (for exporting))

Modellers: High/low poly modelling/sculpting, baking maps, UVing. Software: Max / Maya / Blender for exporting, package of choice for creating.

2D (HUD/menu building): Knowledge of Action Script 2 and Flash (would be good to know some Lua/C++, too).

2D other: Photoshop/Gimp.

Mappers: Used Sandbox editor before (or at least something similar, like the UDK editor).

I usually love all things star wars and its a smart move on your part to call it a 'mod' as I've heard that Lucas-arts is particularly ferocious about their IPs and a 'game' would have most likely been shut down but I see what you're doing here ;)

This post is better written than your first, it has all the information needed, only thing missing is some media and more detail on the positions, but overall its a better post, so i wish you luck finding who you need.

Hey, I'd like to apply for texture/3D artist and possibly programmer. :) I've got some years of 'hobby-experience' with 3D art (mostly characters). I can get you some pictures later if you want.
I don't know Lua and only a bit of C++ but Lua seems to be quite similar in its approach to python (which I can use very well) so learning that shouldn't be a problem. In terms of C++... well, I can do basic stuff. I poked around a bit in the C++ source which comes with the SDK. I suppose I at least can do things like setting up weapons, maybe writing funcitonality for usable/interactive items/objects in the world etc...
So, summary:
Primary job: 3D artist(characters), Texture artist.
Secondary job: Programmer
One problem I have is that there is no exporter for XSI/Softimage. I think there's a FBX converter for CE but I dunno how much functionality is still missing from that.

I guess i'll go ahead and join you people in doing your project. I can do some 3d modeling and do programming in c++ (which I think Cryengine uses).

I'm currently in the process of acquiring a degree in game design and would like to have something to practice the things I am learning on. I can understand that. I saw quite a few people saying they wanted to help with 3D modeling but figured I'd at least put my name out there. Most of those models were from a year or so ago and I know you liked those but here's one of my more recent models for a more accurate representation of my current abilities.

As long as you can keep them coordinated, I imagine you could have a large number of them. Considering you're pretty much remaking Battlefront 3 from the ground up... I'd say the more the better.

I would love to join, but i think i would not be experienced enough i guess, but it would be an amazing experience and a great way to learn CryEngine3. I am one of Ande's friends, i use softimage XSI too but i could learn 3ds max and Zbrush, i am owner of SWBF CUSTOM (which became the home of The411Remnant group too), i can do 3d models, textures would love to learn environment creation in cryengine (i want to became environment artist), i have xfire and steam: lephenix51, and here are my old models: S1043.photobucket.com
