WHY DID I WRITE THIS ARTICLE?: I have been designing Age of Empires 2 game engine scenarios from its own Map Editor since 2014. So I have 6 more projects than my better known "Age of DOOM" and "Robin Hood's DOOM". In this article I will mention about all of them one by one and shortly.

GENERAL FEATURES: Before I will write about all of them one by one I will talk about the general features of them.

  • They are technically more inferior than my Age of DOOM mod. Because all of them are my eariler projects. Also because all of them only use original Age of Empires 2 assets they don't have as popularity as Age of DOOM mod. However they are also playable projects until their endings like Age of DOOM.
  • I have never made a Build&Destroy style scenario like the original vanilla Age of Empires 2 gameplay. My all projects only contain RPG and/or Fixed Force gameplay elements. Also sharp micromanagement is very important against melee and ranged enemies. Most of the time players will control ranged unit(s) to use "Hit and Run" or "Hit and Avoid" tactics against melee or ranged enemies like my Age of DOOM mod. Keeping a distance with melee enemies (hit-run) and avoiding from projectiles by moving to an another place are crucial. Also there will be some unique mechanics (for Age of Empires 2) like sniper or suicide mechanics.
  • My all projects have a story and cutscenes. Players will control the main character, who has a purpose in the story, (and sometimes his friends) inside the related story (from the beginning to the end).
  • Mostly they are quite challenging scenarios. They are harder than "Age of DOOM". "The Nightmare" campaign is the most challenging one. But I am regretful due to making them tough. Because I understood that I need to make the difficulty more balanced for players.
  • "Genghis Khan's Cursed Tomb" campaign is the most balanced, modern and successful one between them. Because it is the newest one between them.

HUNTER (2014): There are 2 major powers that compete with each other. One of them is the evil GrandTurk Country. The other one is the legal Phaselis Country. Hunter and Navi (archers) escape from the evil GrandTurk Country and reach to the Phaselis Country to stop the GrandTurk's evil kingdom. The character and land names are weird because when I was playing "ikariam" (an online browser game) in the past I chose those names from the other players' account names.

Most of the time players will control archer groups against small numbers of melee and ranged units. There are 10 normal episodes + 2 cutscene episodes. Also there are many long cutscenes and dialogues in the whole "Hunter" campaign.

THE NIGHTMARE (2014): One day Robin falls into asleep many hours before than his regular time because there will be a contest in the next day. Because of sleeping earlier Robin falls into a terrible nightmare. In his nightmare Robin has to pass all unknown areas to reach his home. This is my hardest campaign. There are too many challenges like varied exams. Saving and reloading required after each successful step. Also there are teleportation zones that Robin use them to reach to the next unknown area.

Also there is an evil unkown voice that plays with Robin like a toy. This evil voice designs all challenges for Robin. It sees Robin like its own test and fun material. Robin needs to reach his home by passing all challenges of the evil voice in his nightmare.

The Nightmare

THE SUICIDE ATTACK (2017): One day Celts capture a Celt betrayer spy who works for the invader English Army. William Wallace and his Scientist offer this spy something to rescue his own honor. This spy will reach to the English governor to explode himself with the bomb that was implanted in his body. The English doesn't know this Celt spy changed his side. Players will control a Woad Raider that tries to reach the English Castle during the whole campaign.

There are many RPG elements in this campaign. There are many challenging events and deadly traps during the whole journey. Also there are some cutscenes, dialogues and investigations that end with multiple choices. Player needs to choose the right choice to survive. Player can explode the main character during the some of multiple choices.

SNIPER ELITE (2018): Wolf Mafia Family kills Hawkeye's parents and sister. "Hawkeye" (sniper) decides to take revenge from this family with his sniper skills. Wolf Mafia Family tasks its own sniper "Magwa" to kill Hawkeye. Players can choose Magwa's control to kill Hawkeye or Hawkeye's control to kill Magwa. This campaign has new unique sniper mechanics for Age of Empires 2. Each sniper can use short, medium, long and very long range sniper shots. Crosshair carpets are references to see that where shots will land.

Also after finishing the "Sniper Elite" campaign there is an extra campaign content named "The Dead End". In this campaign Hawkeye is trapped into the dead end against Uncas and troops of Uncas. Player needs to control Hawkeye against Uncas. Lastly 3 of character names are from "The Last of The Mohicans".

ROBIN HOOD (2018): This campaign contains both historical and fictional elements. This is a RPG and Fixed Force campaign with its 5 scenarios. There is a very brutal and unfair system of Sheriff that concludes with the death of Robin's whole family except himself. Robin decides to collect and train new voluntary archers like himself to revenge from the Sheriff by using guerilla tactics against the Sheriff. The first 4 episodes are about the struggle against the Sheriff while the final episode contains investigation elements to find the thieves of "the piece of the true cross".

This campaign looks like "Hunter" campaign about the gameplay aspect. Both of them contain ranged archer groups against melee and ranged enemies. This campaign also contains overdramatic sequences especially inside of the first episode.

GENGHIS KHAN'S CURSED TOMB (2020): This campaign only contains a single episode. 4 English Tomb Raiders Tom (Swordsman), Erik (Halberdier), Robin (Skirmisher) and Joan (Tom's girlfriend) achieve to find Genghis Khan's tomb after 3 years of searching period. The cursed tomb traps this group. Because they disrespected Genghis Khan's tomb by revealing it to humanity. These 4 people have to struggle against cursed Mongol soul units to survive against the cursed tomb. This is my best and most modern campaign except "Age of DOOM".

Player will struggle against traditional steppe Mongol units. There will be 10 waves and 2 boss battles. Each wave will be tougher than the previous one. Player will control 4 units. Each one has strong and weak sides. Player can improve both character special ability powers and character stats in wave intervals. So player needs to choose the right updates for his/her gameplay strategy.
