Guarded Kingdom of Doriath
Elen sila lumenn' omentielvo, a star shines on the hour of our meeting, friends. Today we’ll be exploring the roster of Doriath, thé Guarded Realm, as they will appear in Silmarillion: Total War. Before continuing, I’d like the note that the units below are the product of Synn of the Darkcloud and were made using a number of existing resources from the Third Age modding bank. Praise be to their original creators and to Synn for his excellent work. Thank you!
Doriath, also known as Eglador, was the great kingdom of the Sindar and a bastion of their civilization and culture. Doriath was located in the centre of Beleriand, bordered by the Ered Gorgoroth to the north and the plains of Estolad and Talath Dirnen to the east and west, Doriath was a land of forests surrounding the river Sirion. It’s ruler, Elu Thingol, was one of the mighty of Arda, having been among the first to wake beside the waters of Cuiviénen; He beheld the light of the Two Tree of Valinor and took to wife the Maia Melian. He reigned over Doriath as the overlord of all Sindar and the chief kingdom of Beleriand ere the coming of the Noldor.
Thingol was enmeshed in the Doom of the Noldor following the retrieval of a Silmaril by Beren. Thingol was murdered craftsmen from Nogrod who listed after the Silmaril and the kingdom soon came to ruin only to re-emerge later under Thingol’s grandson Dior Eluchil. Soon however the Oath of the Sons of Fëanor was at work, for while Thingol was king there was little hope of assailing the Sindar and retrieving the holy jewel. With Dior on the throne and Doriath weakened, the Sons of Fëanor soon launched an assault on the Guarded Realm beginning the second Kinslaying. Doriath would be destroyed a second time, never to rise again.
As the premiere kingdom of the Sindar in Middle Earth, the armies of Doriath field the best trained and equipped troops to be found outside the kingdoms of the Noldor. The Sindar traditionally favored the axe and so many of their units are equipped with one handed or two-handed axes and as such excel on the offensive. As the Sindar of Doriath were numerous in those days, their light Marchwarden units enjoy slightly increased unit sizes and come equipped with poison arrows. Doriath high tier archers also have a powerful supporting projectile in the form of Silverthorn arrows. These excellent disruption tools are the perfect means to ensure aggressive Doriath pushes find their mark and scatter interlopers into the Guarded Land. Iathrim armies, unlike other Teleri factions such as Ossiriand or the Falathrim, have a large number of high tier units with solid armor values which are suitable for open combat. Their tactics are straight forward and in many ways mirror the aggression of their hated enemies, the Orcs: Find the enemy, engage in close quarters and rout them from the field with a mighty charge. Due to their high tier nature, Iathrim armies are quite expensive to field. They also eschew more defensive weapon types in favor of aggressive and mobile axe infantry, or spearmen and swordsmen; Doriath thus has no access to pikemen, halberds, or two-handed spears.
Thank you all for your support so far and we look forward to sharing more of our work with you in the near future! Namárië Eldandil and we’ll see you in the next update. -The Dark Tower Team

How about less text and more pictures? :P
What do you mean? :)
I see you have added more text now ^^
If you're making a Thingol model, and you model Aranruth, does it replace the other sword held by Ar-Pharazon in Reforged?
Why would it replace Ar-Pharazon?
It doesn't replace him, just the weapon he's carrying.
Ar-Pharazon won't be in the mod in any case, so I'm not sure what you mean :P
I refer to the sword he holds in Reforged. Looks like it's not Aranruth to begin with.
Well he's not in the Silmarillion mod, so it's a non-issue.
He is saying that the Sword Ar-Pharazon has should be the same as Thingol's (as the Kings of Numenor inherited Aranruth).
It became an heirloom, not necessarily their weapon of choice. In either case, haven't gotten to that point
