Most of them are connected with each other because of having common ancestry, but some were grouped because of being relatively similar or living in the same region. It happens so due to either uncertain origin of some ethnic groups (we still know relatively little about peoples of antiquity) or because some (like Aquitanians - ancient Basque) can't be classified within any of the larger ethnic groups (like Celts).
Very nice list!
Iberians in the Berber group is quite peculiar. Indeed Iberian peoples did come from Africa, but I don't know how African they remained.
And I'll never understand why Egyptians are always in the Semitic group. Egyptians were close cousins of the Libyans and, by extension, of the Berbers.
Iberians are an example of what I mentioned before - they are descendants of the Berbers who crossed Mediterranean from Africa to eastern coast of Iberia. It is their descent which is relevant in this example.
About Egyptians - you are actually right - I must admit I didn't know that and I honestly thought Egyptians are of Semitic descent. I wouldn't go so far however as to indentify them with Berbers. They are far too different. Do you think creating wholly separate culture group for Egyptians (and maybe later Nubians) would be sufficient?
Many of the peoples of southern Europe, Indo-European or otherwise, are descendants of the Berbers who crossed the strait of Gibraltar, at least indirectly, through the Iberians. That makes it problematic.
As for the Egyptians, they're a sister tribe of the Berbers, according to 20th century anthropologist Giuseppe Sergi (one of the few non-Nordicist anthropologists of his age). I'd honestly group them in the Berber group, but yeah, an Egyptian group with Egyptians and Nubians may also make sense, although it'd be based on culture rather than ancestry.
That's what I thought also. So it's settled then. There will be additional egyptian group with egyptian and nubian cultures.
