The Wolf Among Lions differs with the previous beta/prologue version of Kings & Conquerors, the Hellenistic Era, in many respects:
- Non-Greek factions. Many non-Greek cultures, including Spanish, Gallic, Balkan, and West and Central Asian factions are available. As are their units and their building art.
- No reliance on scripting. This was done because custom scripts were known to crash multiplayer games for RoN:EE.
- Completed balance.x file. Thanks to MHLoppy who confirmed that balance.x usage in Ron:EE was flawed. We rewrote the file so as to create different strengths and weaknesses of different units - for instance, chariots are ineffective against horse cavalry, and suffer insta-death, if attacked by pike or elephant units.
- All that is left is CtW....
