An unofficial mod manager for Halo Wars: Definitive Edition. Works for both PC and Steam distributions. Third major release. Installation instructions and changelog in description.
[Version 2024.5.15] Firebase Mod Manager
Disclaimers:
Halo Wars: Definitive Edition © Microsoft Corporation. "Firebase" was created under Microsoft's "Game Content Usage Rules" using assets from Halo Wars: Definitive Edition, and it is not endorsed by or affiliated with Microsoft.
Prerequisites:
- A legal copy of Halo Wars: Definitive Edition from either Steam or the Microsoft Store
Important Note!
Previous releases of the mod manager will be disabled on ModDB due to instabilities and incompatibilities. The source is always available on the repo.
Additionally, if you are using any previous version of the mod manager (specifically anything based on "HaloWarsDE Mod Manager"), kindly uninstall it and use this as a replacement. I aim to release one final update package on the old repository to transition to this new system, but that is not guaranteed.
Changelog:
- Squashed Bugs:
- Fixed issue with mod manager sometimes launching headless (without UI)
- Background videos now pause when manager is minimized
- Compiled binaries are now self-contained (have .NET runtimes embedded)
- Fixed general instabilities
- General Changes:
- Moved source to HaloWarsModding organization on GitHub, rebranded as "Firebase"
- Upgraded backend to .NET 8
- Releases for the mod manager will now be distributed as a .zip file for ease of use
- Auto updates are now distributed as .zip files for portability
- Added new tab in "Options" window for tools so that they're easier to find
VirusTotal:
How To Install:
- Download the Firebase.zip file
- Extract to any directory you want
- Run the mod manager via "Firebase.exe" (currently requires admin rights)
Seemingly back from the grave...yeah. Apologies for my absence, I had a lot of life changes occur in the past couple of years, preventing me from working on things.
But I am back now, and with a new release of the mod manager. I will try to push out an update package for the older versions to update to this new one, but it may be better to download this new version directly.
Please let me know of any bugs that present themselves. Hope you enjoy :)
Edit: An auto-update has now been released for the previous version that will install Firebase for you. It is now not necessary to grab this new version and do a complete reinstall if you already have v2022.1.1.1
Well, hey, I'm glad things stabilized for ya.
