Unreal Tournament HD textures 3.5 are here. This release is focused on completing all of the UT99 specific texture packages that were incomplete. UT99 is now HD from top to bottom!
The UT99 pack now contains 82 .utx packages, while the Unreal version has 28. All of the textures in UT99 are now HD, including bonus pack 1-4 textures. The UT 2nd CD S3TC textures are not needed when using this pack.
HD skins for players, monsters, weapons, pickups, and decorations require a separate mod: The HD Skins mod By Lightning Hunter.

You can find the smaller 3gb LE version of the v.3.5 HD textures for UT99 there.
Other optional versions of this HD pack are HD4K Extreme Resolution Edition v3 for the Direct X 11 renderer
Also, check out the S3TC Techdemo Betatextures, an HD pack that features all of the earliest HD textures by Epic and Diehard unaltered, many of which were replaced in the v2 and v3 pack. Any missing textures are now filled in from the main release of the HD pack.

For UT99 be patched to 436 and use an updated renderer such as:

Warning- never use these textures on a server or when mapping.
In short, there are only 2 things needed to upgrade Unreal’s textures to HD. Overwrite the original .UTX files with the new ones.
Have “use S3TC=TRUE” in the renderer preferences. Download the version of these textures for Unreal227 or UT99 depending on what you are going to use. If you are not going to be playing on servers at all, the different versions are actually interchangeable. Having the right version installed is required by most servers however or you will get a version mismatch error. For Unreal 227 I also recommend turning on shadows in Preferences - Pawn Shadows - realtime, and decoration shadows.
Also in Advanced options set Rendering - VolumetricLighting to true for your renderer. This turns on fog effects (UT99 as well)

Love the textures, thank you all for making this happen. Everything I've seen so far fits and blends great, but there's two things I noticed (in UT99). The head and hands on the skin Skaarj Dominator are the old ones, and on DM-Gothic the big windows with the bars looking outside are not transparent.
That's because the hands and the heads are in the same texture, so if they're the old ones they were not changed.
Hi, the issue with DM-Gothic is now fixed with v3.5.1. As for the Skaarj dominator, i found I was unable to upgrade a couple of those skins due to game crashes.

Thanks for the great work! Will there be HD textures for WarBoss and Xan Mk. II? I downloaded both version 3.5 and the old 2.5.1, but couldn't find them anywhere.

I have tried running on a fresh install of the Steam version of UT99. 10/19/22.
Make sure you are running either the 469 patch or one of the updated renderers for v 436. My webpage has a section about where to find.

Hi, I just copied the textures folder, and when i launch the game, it says I need to insert the Unreal CD-Rom !? I use the last 469c patch. It works perfectly with the low edition texture pack and standard textures, but not with this one, any one have the same problem ?
edit : ok my fault, i copied the new folder instead of copying inside the textures folder, now works like a charm
