After 6 months of reworking, we now present to you Chapter 1 of Rise of the Moderns: Ultima Ratio! this is a mod centred around the period of the Napoleonic Wars, the War of 1812 as well as the Russian wars in the Caucasus. With enough support, we hope to see it evolve into the next 4 chapters of Rise of the Moderns, give or take a few units and/or factions.
What do you get?
- A revamped system of technologies and buildings, made to fit the historical period of this mod more closely.
- New icons and proper names for units, especially non-British, non-American ones.
- A thoroughly revamped group of factions: non-Western factions have been amended to reflect their actual historical competencies.
I also do have plans to build a stand-alone project out of this -Chapter 2, Forge of Storms - but for now, here is the mod. Enjoy.
REQUIREMENTS:
This mod is mostly compatible with these two mods.
NOTED BUGS:
1. Training units may result in freezes. I am unsure as to what causes them, but I know that building certain units or structures may result in freezes. I am working on removing these bugs as soon as possible - which was one of the reason a grace period of 50 days got stretched to 5 months.
2. Balancing for units has not been completed owing to attempts to remove as many bugs as possible from the game that may disrupt play. However, I should be able to resolve this issue quite soon.
3. Conversion to full Rise of the Moderns rulesets is not complete - this is a gradual change and dependent on public support for the mod.
To help me debug, please note down the factions of the affected game, so I can trace what units or buildings are causing it.
