Bugfixed Half-Life Echoes version for Windows, Linux and OS X. Compatible with GoldSource and Xash3D FWGS.
This archive contains some modified Half-Life: Echoes content and recompiled game libraries for Windows, Linux and OS X.
Installation: unpack and place this patch over the latest Half-Life: Echoes version.
Changes:
- Fixed many annoying HL bugs
- Added cl_viewbob cvar for viewmodel bobbing.
- Added more icons for steam.
- Added support for Linux and OS X.
- Helmet icon was replaced on armor vest icon.
- Fixed possible crash on echoes23 map.
NOTE: This version based on modified Spirit of Half-Life 1.2 without some features which was introduced in Spirit of Half-Life 1.5 and not required anymore cg.dll and cggl.dll libraries.

Half-Life Before is based on Spirit 1.8 and has compatibility problems with Android version of the engine. There is no proper solution for this yet.
Spirit 1.8 has a bug in xawari's portable camera code and breaks touch controls.
Anyway I will remove any questions about android in comments under pc crossbuilds.
How does one make this work on mac? Thanks!

Patched version has a glitch, which makes the game unpassable on echoes14 map. In order to pass, you must kill all spawned enemies, but one single vortigaunt just don't spawn, so nothing happens. Reinstalled to not patched version, loaded the same save where all enemies already killed, and the last vortigaunt spawned out of nowhere. Only then game finally proceeded.
Was running on Xash3D build 4344 (original, not FWGS).
All maps work properly, you probably updated your mod while being saved at that map (installed newer version or this patch and tried to continue from your old save), so something didn't work due to this. Or it was just a random glitch.
Could you make a text or video tutorial on how to get Echoes on Mac?
I does not have Mac at all.
It's autobuild from travis.
Check file permissions, I think trouble in access rights.
echoes13 map doesn't start. Try it, run map echoes13 in console.
It's about "No free edicts error". It should not happen if you're using Steam HL or Xash3D.
Also, from ReadMe.txt:
Ensure that you run the game using the "Half-Life: Echoes" game library shortcut in Steam.
This increases the entity limit and avoids the crash "ED_ALLOC: NO FREE EDICTS"
Do not load Half-Life and change to Echoes from within the custom game menu.
Hello, when i try to start a new game nothing happens, no matter the difficulty it just stay in the menu, any solutions?
You have to install this patch over the mod itself. Moddb.com
Can't seem to get past the map echoes13, it loads but a script seems to fail resulting in the elevator not moving and the player being locked in place.
As a workaround you can manually load the next map: "map echoes14" in console. echoes13 is just an elevator ascension cutscene - nothing really important happens there. You can watch it on YT, it's just under 2 minutes.
You probably updated the mod during midgame. Some entities may not work due to this. I'd suggest to start new game or try another save from earlier map.
I had this same problem and used the workaround from d3d0zz of loading the next map via console.
