This is a catch all for active (or inactive) members of the Tour of Duty mod team. We created a Half Life I modification, and developed it from 1999-2003.
The modification Tour of Duty was a realistic vietnam war total conversation of the GoldSrc codebase.
The gameplay style was reminiscent of the old school shooters that the programmers grew up with (i.e. Quake, TFC, Half-Life Death match), and we integrated some concepts from both Counter-Strike and Day of Defeat. Tempering the bunny hop with a stamina stat, implementing a stat that represented 'morale', and gameplay modes reminiscent of all the above games were available.
We implemented a fairly sophisticated set of level design tools. The victory conditions could be controlled solely by the level developer, even though the level suffix would determine the base gameplay code the engine loaded.
No games, mods, engines, software or hardware appear to be published or in development by Tour of Duty mod team. We suggest you add games, mods, engines and hardware you are developing here (or update existing games, mods, engines and hardware on the site which should be linked with this Developer & Publisher).
If this profile is not used to publish or develop games, mods, engines, software or hardware we recommend you contact us and we will move it to the groups section and this page will display a blog instead.
