Port of my semi crappy AO3 and StCoM weapon sounds mod. Please report any bugs/crashes since i'm lazy and don't test properly.
//Introduction
A simple sound mod i created while i was bored. It *should* sound like the movie Heat since that was the aim. Sounds were taken from various sources, but majority of them from the Insurgency mod "Realistic Urban Weapon Sounds 1.5" by Porpeta Voraz *COTA* so all credit to the people who actually recorded these. They aren't really high quality since Stalker doesn't support stereo sound.

You actually did it! Too bad CRC is dead, otherwise more folks would check this out.
I did! And it took me 30 minutes after months of putting it away. And true, gone are the days of me shilling this on CRC, good times.
gonna check it out later
Be aware, ALL AK family rifles have the same gun sound. My reasoning is that AK74/47/101/74m/AKS are pretty much the same gun(not taking caliber and material in account). I'll add a few layers when I'm not busy, but they SHOULD generally sound similar based on my limited firing experience.
Seems reasonable. Different caliber will make a difference in sound IMO, just because of the different dimensions of various parts and how that will absorb/emit sound differently. I think the biggest difference will be in muzzle brakes, however. Muzzle brakes on AK-74s, AK-103s, etc. give off a larger and more distinct sound signature, AFAIK.
They sound similar but not the same. You can get totally different sound with different barrel, bold carrier or muzzle brake. Not to mention about gas tube or reciver cover thickness(resonance).
One AK can have more polimers parts so it will sound way different than older, full metal that will give you that specific metallic after sound.
Point is, if making mod/addon, why not to make it properly and polish it a bit. Instead of publishing it and saying " i'm lazy and don't test properly". If you could not bother test it why we should?
Because i like releasing stuff early then updating it as i go, IMO if it's not broken and serves it purpose i'd rather someone try it and on a rare occasion like it and use it. You'll notice it's all WIP and I'd like to spend hours looking trough sound banks and editing in audacity but my free time is limited.
oh no worries, I know that problem with free time...
Maybe I just wrote that a bit too offensive, because You didnt put WIP tag in it and I read description: "i'm lazy and don't test properly" and I was just like "the hell?"
No worries didn't take it as offensive at all :D That's true it doesn't say WIP but I'd say in my case everything under v1.0 shouldn't be regarded as a finished mod (Not that it gives it immunity to criticism). I have some plans for this mod and untill i have the time to complete it all it's gonna be WIP! Love your mods btw
//0.5 Version
-Replaced the AK family sounds with layered ones, planning to do this to all weapons soon.
-New VSS/Val sound (the old one was too loud for a subsonic silenced 9x39mm rifle)
-New Scar sound
Will this work with CoM and if not will you update your mod on the CoM mod page, cause i really enjoy the new sounds :D
Will update the CoM version soon! I put it off because i don't play CoM anymore, but it should be like 15 minutes of work, probably tonight or tomorrow
Thanks a lot dude much appreciated.
Updated!
The mod is really good !
I loved the quality of your mod for AO3 and I love it for STCoP now as well! Is it just me, though, or are the sounds a bit quiet? I didn't notice this while playing with AO3, but I took notice immediately during my first gunfight with STCoP. Could it be an audio settings issue? Cheers.
Thanks! Since i'm using literally the same OGG files it can't be that. I haven't noticed any sound level differences. Sorry for a late reply, was on a break btw.
