Changes stats of all game weapons and their upgrades for better balance and gun play experience. (new game not required)
Compatibility: LA DC 1.4002-1.4004
New game: not required, but recommended
Highlights:
- Fixes all inconsistencies in weapon stats (reliability, recoil, etc.) and upgrades
- Upgrade system is vital now, every upgrade makes a difference
- Better balance between weapons (often determined by upgrade potential)
- Weapon stats are based on real-life, but with tweaks for balance and upgrade system
- Reduced duplication in configs for easier tweaking
Error corrections:
- Fixed weapon HUD positions when aiming for some pistols and double-barrel shotguns (both 4x3 and 16x9 monitors)
- Fixed incorrect silencer type for FN2000 and Desert Eagle
- Fixed incorrect position of silencer on icons of weapons
Ammo:
- Rebalanced damage based on caliber, *somewhat* resembling real life stopping power
- Increased AP coeffecient for AP ammo types
- Different air resistance depending on caliber and ammo type (sniper ammo will have more straight trajectory, etc.)
- 9x39: each type has specific purpose and ammo other than SP-5 will deteriorate Vintorez quickly
- 12cal: buffed slug cartridges, reduced buck shot spread
- .44 cal: became much stronger, good alternative to a shotgun but in pistol slot
Weapons:
- Rebalanced damage based on weapon class and accessibility in the game world
- Slightly reduced base rate of fire (only some weapons) and bullet speed (around 20%), to make upgrade system work better
- Increased recoil accross the board (with exception of few weapons that already had too much of it)
- Added weapon sway consistently and not only for selected weapons, to make gun skill more important
- Rebalanced reliability of every weapon: around ~300 to 5000 shot total capacity (upgrades greatly increase capacity)
- Some unique weapons are not OP now (like 5.45 Groza)
- Removed possibility to upgrade unique weapons (to make upgrades work more reliably), instead they have unique attributes from start, with good reliability, etc.
- Updated algorithms for calculating weapon stat bars in inventory screen for better weapon comparison
Grenades:
- Increased amount of frags for all types of grenades
- Increased blast damage for hand grendaes, but reduced radius somewhat
- Increased damage of RPG-7
- OG-7V now doesn't have jet engine but instead have decent start speed (like RL)
Upgrade system:
- Rewritten all upgrades according to new weapon configs
- Upgrades now say correct amount of effect they are doing (eg. 20% accuracy will actually reduce bullet spread by 20%)
- Increased effectiveness of some types of upgrades so that there are less useless upgrades
- Condition upgrades will have very noticable effect now and may be even required for some weapons
- AKS-74: replaced a few upgrades with Accuracy so that there are not too many up's of the same type
- G36: one Accuracy up replaced with Reliability
- SIG-550: one Recoil up replaced with Reliability
- VSS: one inertion upgrade replaced with Reliability
- SVU: removed upgrade for Silencer (no engine support yet)
- RPG-7: removed ugrades for trajectory (no engine support)
- MP5: one RPM up replaced with Reliability
- Stock pistols do only 4-5 shots per second, but upgrades increase this value to 10 and more
- Weight reduction was made more costly
- Caliber change increase deterioration roughly on the same amount that all Reliability upgrades do
Examples of balance between weapons:
- BM-16 (long) is powerful and sturdy / TOZ-34 is accurate
- Smaller caliber pistols have large magazines and high RPM / .45 and .44 cal pistols are much more powerful
- AKS-74U has better armor-piercing / MP5 (with ups) has higher RPM
- FN2000 is more powerful and faster (with ups) / G36 more reliable, accurate and with less recoil
- LR300 is faster (with ups) / SIG-550 more powerful
- AK-74 has less recoil / AKM is much more powerful
NOTE: air resistance changes will only be visible after the next patch (after 1.4004) as it requires tweaks to the game engine.

Don't know, but most likely not.
Sharpshooter skill will become more important, because more weapons have sway now.

Do you now maybe why when upgrading wepons lets say i upgrade ak 47 s-acuraccy by 30--there is no visual benefit on the stats when you click on ak in inventory.You cant see those lines or parameteres(as you want) going up or down its always same no matter what you upgrade.Is there any fix or patch=?

Hello, when you shoot with l85 with a silencer on, the game crashes. The files causing trouble are in upgrades/new folder (w_l85_up or smth). Without them mod works fine. No other mods installed. If these files are replaced with files from other mods, they work fine too.
Hi, did you find the reason what in particular makes the game crash?
Because it is the same error with walther or beretta.
After installing the upgrade, that allows to use a silencer, the game crashes when firing with mounted silencer.
Is the error in "w_beretta_up.ltx" or in "w_beretta_up_sect.ltx"?
Some MODs dont use/have the "...up_sect.ltx" file.
For those who have crashes: If you go to your Lost Alpha root directory and into the appdata folder, you can find logs with an error message related to your crash. If you post the error it makes it easier to diagnose the issue, as the error, more often than not, shows which file is broken and which line.

1.since LADC used original shoc inventory icons for svd and ak74,as a sugesstion you might want to put those back.
2.obviously you put some hard work into this mod and since its a "weapons rebalance" why screw it up by using same zoom factor for sniper scopes and AR scopes(specifically the mod didnt fix the zoom factor for scoped groza 5.45).
3.how is it actually a reBALANCE when even pmm ammo uses same dispersion as sniper rounds?just asking

Any possibility this will be updated or released for 1.4005? It crashes on startup for this version. The vanilla weapon accuracy and damage from the player is laughable while NPC accuracy and damage are outrageous.

Yeah, unfortunately none of the weapon mods work with 1.4007DC et al, mainly because there are other files found in other directories, which are not included by these mods... it's very sad, because I *really* want to be able to disable weapons degradation for all weapons, but it just doesn't seem to be doable.

A BIG thank you for this mod. I was on the verge of give it up playing Lost Alpha with that ridiculous rate of weapons wearing off. You practically fire one magazine and the weapons jammed. Only an idiot could think that, in the original Lost Alpha! That and plus I couldn't run for long distances, got me killed by dogs!! By DOGS !!! Pathetic. I found a couple of mods that will help, including yours.
