HOW TO INSTALL
1. Go to Reshade.me and download reshade.
2. Click on Reshade. You should see this.![Screenshot 2021 02 19 132008]()
3. Click on select a game and manage its installation. Click on Anomaly DX8!
3. You should see this. Pick Direct3D 9!

4. Install all of the presets or don't. It doesn't matter, I already gave all of them to you in the file. DO NOT CLOSE THE RESHADE INSTALL JUST YET!
5. Open the rar file, follow the file path below, extract all of the content to your Anomaly directory! EXCEPT THE APPDATA FOLDER IF YOU ARE USING DarkZONE! ![Screenshot 2021 02 19 132503]()
6. Back to the reshade. You should see that your reshade install was successful. Click on Edit Reshade settings. You should see below. Click performance mode! Click on the preset ... and go to your bin folder in your Anomaly folder and choose between the normal old reshadepreset, the low spec old version, or DarkZone. Click on OK.

7. Launch Anomaly. Reapply all of your controls and settings, they may or may not have gotten messed up in the process! If you are using the DarkZONE preset, it is recommended that you change your weather so that it is cloudy, rainy and foggy more often. Why? Well, that is because the DarkZONE preset is designed to look best in those weathers and while it does not look bad in sunny weather, it doesn't look as good as it does in cloudy/rainy/foggy weather.
8. Download Anomaly Skyboxes V2! They improve Anomaly skyboxes a lot and I took the best skyboxes I could find!
9. Enjoy!
The difference between Low Spec Old Reshade Preset & Normal Old Reshade Preset is the bloom, which makes a difference of 10 fps. Dark ZONE only takes 5 fps and uses ambient light, the main fps killer, so it remains bright enough to play while keeping a somber mood and it only takes 5 fps! Also I included a script that ensures that you get better screenshots when using the in-game screenshoter!

Assuming you have 60 fps on DX8, you can lose 0-10 fps, without any problem. Now if you have like 30 fps, then that makes sense but if you have 60 fps before the reshade, then you should be good.
Already want to test how it affects FPS? But at least it will be seen better otherwise DX8 dark as always.
As I stated above, "YOU WILL LOSE ANYWHERE FROM 0-10 FPS!" One way you can test is to go to the debug map.
Is the first screenshot also in dx8?

I think Im missing something, I followed the steps,installed the normal reshade and the sunflares along with the menu show up but there is no bloom

I think this is the moon not an anomaly(correct me if Im wrong). My reshade is only really making it brighter. If you got an issue with the size, its a full moon, you can either disable the moon system and have it static or just sleep through it and sleep on every 8th(or 28th depending on your settings) to avoid this.
Found the cultprit. Its the suns.ltx that was doing that. Removed that file and now its normal again.
I am not sure if thats a good idea but if you enjoy it, then thats good.

Hey brother could you help me out with this as well? Does deleting the suns.ltx mess with anything else? Im pretty upset at a few of this guys mods and changes. Broken many of our games.

Sun flares won't really affect noticeable performance. At most, like 1 fps. Also thank Aquamarine for telling me that brightness saturation looks better than just gamma.
The game looks better on dx8 with this addon, or it looks better on dx11 without the addon
Its really personal tastes. This definitely looks better than DX9(even on high settings), dx10(low-lowish med settings) and dx11(low settings). But in comparison to dx11 on high settings, it doesn't look as good. However, I am going to upgrade this mod with a brand new one that looks way better than the current version and doesn't kill fps.

Let Soundscape Overhaul overwrite this addon. Its the weather files that are messing with soundscape, so just let soundscape overwrite this addon.
Even though I select the Preset file nothing seems to change in the game apart from the sunflare. There is no bloom or other post processing effects. Even when i load the preset only 1 of the effects is ticked in the reshade menu.

Hello, I like your addon! but I'm having a problem with shaky hands on viewmodels. I think is the user.ltx. I'm using ЦЕМЕНТ's Position & View 2.1
Really sorry about that, its in the settings to make it so you can disable the shaky hands. I think its the headbobbing factor that plays in.

Well, I'll be gosh darned. playing at 1024x576. was doable, but chunky, on dx9. I've never used reshade before but dx8 now looks beautiful. Cheers. appreciated.

Sorry for the late reply. Try reinstalling reshade. It might have gotten messed up during download. Otherwise, contact me on discord and I can give you the file. Its d_nan by the way and most people in the addons-discussions channel of the Anomaly discord know me so you can ask them for me too.
Welp Not working :/ No changes, no bloom or sunflare which is ugly(Default i think) even i pick the reshadepreset(not low spec) welp except for 1 active which enhance the color a bit. BTW what effect did you use/enable? because when i open the reshade menu in game there is only 1 active effect. is it really 1 effect active on reshade preset? if not i want to see your active effect you use in game.
There is way more than just 1 active effect. There is Filmic Tonemap, prod80_04_Technicolor,Colourfulness,prod80_02_Bloom. Those are the effects. I think you didn't pick any of the anomalydx(whatever version).exe and picked the launcher instead. Also sun flares & weather go inside of the gamedata while user.ltx goes into appdata and reshade files go into bin. Hope this helps.
Thanks Finally working! this is what i did. After step 3, there is a pop up either to download the effect or skip it, I did download/install the effects Colorpresets by prod80. Fire up the game and the Reshade finally use the preset on proper way :D BTW the graphic is really nice Its just the DX8 render lightning effect is broken for me sometimes Lol ima report this to devs. Beautiful reshade afterall! :D
I'm trying to install ReShade but anomaly isn't showing up in the list at all. And I'm not sure where to find Anomaly DX8 anywhere else. Plenty of other games show up, but not anomaly. Other STALKER games show up too, even
