A few tweaks to vanilla SR-25, most importantly removal of the integrated scope and allowing you to add any picatinny scope (including BaS scopes)
No more fixed scope on SR-25, now it can take a red dot, an ACOG, or just irons (plus some tweaks for "realism")
(iron sights are from an old version, it should be MP7 iron sights now)
new icons
A patch is included for BaS scopes. You can attach the same scopes an M4A1 can take (that means no compact sights):
All scoped versions of the SR-25 are compatible with Shader 3D scopes. New reticles included.
The textures are kind of blurry at high zoom, but that's to be expected. They're just 2048x2048, plus I'm not exactly good at working with them.
This will probably be incompatible with other BaS + S3DS patches in the future due to scope settings being stored in the scope's section and not the weapon. At the time of writing, there are no such patches, so let me know if you're making one, or just use my settings. They're made specifically for the textures I used, feel free to use them as well.
Install via MO2. FOMOD included for easy install.
Select the patches you need. 2D Scope Overhaul and Shader 3D scopes are incompatible for obvious reasons.
Patches included for:
Weapon Icon Replacer Project has a way better looking icon for this mod. Check it out if you don't like mine.
Includes textures from Boomsticks and Sharpsticks, which will show conflicts in MO2 but can be ignored.
This does not require BaS! The textures are there for people who don't use BaS. (The BaS patch however does not include textures and will require it to be installed)
Should be compatible with anything. Load after anything that changes w_sr25.ltx or wpn_sr25_hud.ogf. EFT reposition is already included.
Boomsticks and Sharpsticks - for the models/textures of the red dots, ACOG, the M4A1 bolt, and all of the other scopes in the BaS patch
Dots and reticles extravaganza - used a base for the Leupold and March reticles in the S3DS patch
AUGmented - for the EFT MP7 iron sights
v1.2.1 (26/3/2024)
- Actually un-removed grenade launcher for real (to the five people that just downloaded it redownload it)
I uploaded like 5 revisions of this, don't mod at 3AM
v1.2 (25/3/2024)
- Replaced MBUS iron sights with MP7 iron sights, added folded iron sights to all models
- Un-removed grenade launcher (reload animation is messed up, that's a vanilla issue)
- Intergrated SR-25 description (thanks ZeD_MnizD), edited to specify the incompatibility with compact sights
- Turned off scope_dynamic_zoom for ACOG+RMR combo
- Added patch for Shader 3D scopes
v1.1 (6/11/2023)
- Added support for BaS scopes

Very nice, but, why no scopes other than the ACOG? AFAIK it's used both as a DMR and a sniper rifle with the Leupold Mark 4.

It would be nice to add in a separate patch for B&S users the ability to use optical sights on a Picatinny rail
working on this right now
Thank You! In the meanwhile, I'll still download it and see how I like it. But at the first glance, my rating will be noo lower than 9 for sure.
Turned out pretty good! 10/10
Its always nice to see vanilla weapons get some love, after trying it out I can confirm that this is a 10/10.
It's awesome you got the patch for the scopes out so fast! Thanks!
Now I have 3 awesome SR-25 variations to choose from. Had a conflict with Moddb.com since it uses the same filename for the icon, but fixed that pretty quickly.
And yeah, the Weapon Icon Replacer is better looking, but that does not deduce from the quality of your work in any meaningful way. Great job, Stalker!
awesome
can you make one that can use the GL with the BAS scope?
and make it custom be cause i use EFPWP PLEASE
To make everything perfect, it is worth changing the description of the weapon, because a grenade launcher can no longer be installed and there is no integrated sight
Edit:I think I did it(eng&rus; version)
