A small addon I made for myself, decided to share it with the community :)
Ever felt annoyed by the companion HUD taking up too much of the screen and breaking immersion? May not be a problem for high resolution users, but most likely for the ones playing in low resolution
Involves an xml edit to make the companion HUD smaller, about 1/4th of the original size size. And an MCM option to completely turn it on/off. Get MCM here if you haven't already.
You can install either one of them or both
I've put 3 versions for the xml a)1024x768 b)1280x720 c)1920x1080. Choose one for you, and even if you use a different resolution don't hestitate to try one but the result may not be ideal. Risks? none. No crashes, no corrupted saves, nothing. Feel free to add/remove it anytime
conflicts: only incompatible with whatever addons changing ui_hud.xml, but a merge is easy to do.
If you want a patch, just let me know

Is it possible to have the companion icons disabled from a new game so I never have to see them again?
Edit : I changed it to an MCM option in the last update, so all you gotta do is turn it off
Thanks brother.
I'll try it, will report if see anything off.
Thanks for your work!
Bro, I'm going to be a **** here, I love your mod. Whenever you add code to a .ltx file, it would be good to add in commentary as to indicate where your changes are lying, so people are able to patch their own game instead of asking you to make a patch for mod anyone asks.

Like this, just an example. Would you clarify me where are your changes? So I can properly patch it? Thank you.

It's always better to compare with vanilla unpacked files with winmerge
Thanks mate, I'm doing the monkey wrench approach to Anomaly and I'm doing my own patches as to teach myself how to handle modding the game. Such a steep learning curve, yet I've learned a lot already.
I already made a lot of progress just by google + trial & error.
I appreciate your prompt response, I'm not getting notifications at all.
THANK YOU! SO MUCH! NEEDED this badly.
hey, thanks for this, great to finally get rid of those ugly monstrocites.
One issue is it seems the mcm menu has to be turned on and off every time and doesn't hold changes between game sessions.
Yeah I didn't knew this was an issue till recently. I'll fix it
