An experimental modification for Call of Chernobyl. In this mod, players will get the opportunity to play as (almost) any household object of their choosing...
EDIT (07/04/2022): This addon is no longer being worked on as I am pursuing other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. projects and mods for other games, though elements of this mod may be used in any future projects that I work on.
MOST RECENT VERSION: Moddb.com
This mod changes how the player will set their eyes on the Zone... literally! To be more specific, players will get the opportunity to play as any almost any inanimate object of their choosing. They will also be able to wield guns, grenades and bolts while they're at it! Be sure to read this description in it's entirety before installing this mod.
I've been playing around with this mod for quite some time. However, in recent events, I haven't had much time to conduct too many tests. This is the reason why I have made it available to you guys (and gals) - any and all suggestions are welcome.
*PLEASE REFER TO SECTION #7 (CHANGELOG) FOR THE CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE VERSIONS OF THIS MOD.
(#1) ADDITIONAL NOTES:
1a) This mod is only compatible with installations of Call of Chernobyl that utilize the STCoP weapon mod. I currently have no plans to release a version of this mod for AO3, and I will evidence the reason for this later (see "2e").
1b) This mod should be moderately functional in terms of it's compatibility with other mods. However, if there are any issues, please feel free to notify me.
1c) Upon extraction, please seek out the "REQUIRED SETTINGS" folder. Open it and view the screenshots. All of them are my preferable settings for playing Call of Chernobyl, with the exception of the "show weapon" option. You MUST keep this option disabled if you wish to make this mod as immersive as possible.
1d) Be sure to consult the other settings in the game (via the main menu or the pause menu) if you wish to tweak them to your liking.
1e) Upon spawning, you only start out with a few mines. Despite this, acquiring a weapon can be an easy requirement to meet, though this is largely dependent on your faction, spawn location and preferred difficulty. Choose these wisely...
1f) As a prop, you will not fatigue at all, but you will still meet an abrupt halt if you exceed your maximum carry weight. The default player carry weight has remained unchanged.
(#2) NOTABLE ISSUES:
2a) Other NPC characters (excluding traders/important NPC characters) will have their character portraits switched, as a result of players having these textures being made available to them. To cope with this slight immersion breaker, I had simply hypothesized that almost every NPC in the Zone was out to kill a specific type of household object.
2b) Players may encounter some minor difficulties when speaking to certain key characters (i.e. the Barkeep). I have increased the jump height of the player, which should be more than enough to remedy any bystanders' ignorance of the size of the player.
2c) Upon death, the player is very likely to see the default character model from a third person perspective; this is the case due to my current inability to change this feature. Maybe one could say that the anomalous spell around the player wears off after they die...?
2d) On top of this, the player may occasionally see their own shadow. This due to the fact that the player's character model has not been changed at all.
2e) When equipping items from their inventory, the player may see their character's arms. To counter this, go to the pause menu and seek out the settings. After that, ensure that the "show weapon" option has been disabled (without the yellow light) and that should clear things up. Plus, you will still be able to "aim" with the crosshairs on your screen (providing you have those enabled). However, the player will not be able to see their equipped weapon(s), unless they take a glance at their inventory.
2f) The player's camera height has been lowered significantly, but not their actual character model; some smaller gaps may be slightly misleading, as it may seem like you can fit through them without error. Unfortunately, this is not always the case.
2g) When NPC characters are firing at the player, they are prone to aim above the player's pre-established camera height (please refer to "2f" for the reason behind this).
2h) Artifact detectors, providing that the "show weapon" option has been disabled in the settings, will not be seen by the player while being used. However, this can be remedied by acquiring either an Echo Detector or a Bear Detector as they emit sound when within proximity of an artifact.
(#3) INSTALLATION:
*IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU KEEP BACKUPS OF ALL OF YOUR FILES THROUGHOUT THE INSTALLATION OF THIS MOD. I AM NOT TO BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF AN ANOMALY DESTROYS ANY OF YOUR FILES. PLEASE REFER TO THE BACKUP LIST THAT FOLLOWS THIS SECTION FOR MORE INFORMATION.
3a) Extract the .rar file.
3b) Copy each and every one of the files within the extracted folder (including appdata, gamedata, REQUIRED SETTINGS and fsgame.ltx) into your Call of Chernobyl main directory. By this, I am speaking of wherever you keep any of the game's files with identical folder names to the ones that I have just mentioned.
3b) Launch your Call of Chernobyl game. Make sure that your initial Call of Chernobyl installation (which will be the destination for this mod) has the STCoP weapon mod installed.
3c) Remember to have fun with it! Please tell me about your experiences with this mod, and let me know if you encounter any issues.
(#4) BACKUP LIST:
*QUOTATION MARKS (") HAVE BEEN USED TO CLEARLY EXPRESS THE NAMES OF ANY RELEVANT FILES AND FOLDERS.
4a) It is recommended that you make backups of the following folders and their associated files:
- "appdata" folder.
("tmp.ltx" and "user.ltx").
- "gamedata" folder.
(configs - including "creatures", "gameplay", "plugins", "weapons", "atmosfear_default_settings.ltx", "atmosfear_options.ltx", "axr_options.ltx", "defines.ltx", "item_upgrades.ltx" and "localization.ltx").
(textures - including "ui" and everything within that folder, such as "ui_actor_portrets.dds", "ui_actor_upgrades_armor.dds", "ui_actor_weapons.dds" and "ui_icon_equipment.dds".
- "fsgame.ltx" file.
(#5) ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
5a) Players will have to rely on their crosshairs to aim any ranged weapons.
5b) With this mod, players will not take any damage from radiation, nor will they bleed out from any wounds.
5c) Some changes have been made to the game's four different tiers of difficulty (see the following section).
(#6) CHANGES TO DIFFICULTY:
ROOKIE - You are a normal household object that will soon make all of the Zone's inhabitants fall to their knees (if they even have any). You will take no damage.
STALKER - You are a normal household object that does not have a desire to sit in safety. You will take damage, but only to a minor degree.
VETERAN - You are a normal household object... or that's what you think you are. You will take even more damage, but not enough to satisfy your bloodlust.
MASTER - You are a household object with mental health issues. You will not survive...
(#7) CHANGELOG:
v1.0 - Mod introduced. No patches made thus far.
(#8) EPILOGUE:
If you have taken some time out of your day to read this, and if you have gotten this far, then I would like to say that I greatly appreciate it. Now get out of here, stalker!

And what do I do when Im mug? I dont understand a bit this mod. Could you explain more? Im really interested in this. Thanks.
In basic terms, the mod will enable players to play as an inanimate object of their choosing. In the character creation screen, you will be given the opportunity to choose a "prop" via the same process of creating your character when starting a new game in vanilla Call of Chernobyl. The prop that you represent is decided by your selected character portrait.
As a prop of your choosing, you are free to do whatever you please in the Zone. Personally, I like to slay Monolithians as a Bandit Radio. :)

Damn, how much pot did you smoke when making this?

Meanwhile, there's nothing that "g_god on" can't handle. Well, except for the timed psi emission that you encounter in X-16 during Story Mode... That'll kill a man quicker than you can say "Bloodsucker".
We don't use that stuff anymore.
