Is it possible to unselect, or disable enemies in the PDA view?
Knowing where your friends are is helpful. Knowing where your enemies are may be a game breaker.
Or am I wrong, and missing the point?

It is possible (everything is possible), but if You want to do this, You will have to edit a bit of script. I may do that, but I'm not sure if I have enough time. I have many things to do lately. Including two different Stalker projects :)
I second Ivanovich_s's suggestion. Its a cool addon, and id want to use it, but knowing where ALL enemies are is kinda lame. if you could program a toggle for "show enemies on pda" under the game option menu, that'd be sweet!
You have to edit the "map_spots.xml" and "map_spots_16.xml" files to remove the enemies.
You want to edit the lines "alife_presentation_squad_enemy" "alife_presentation_squad_monster" in "map_spots.xml" and "alife_presentation_squad_enemy_1" "alife_presentation_squad_monster_1" in "map_spots_16.xml"
I tried to comment it out as was mentioned by BeeTLe_BeTHLeHeM on this page Moddb.com
It didn't work, so I just changed the width and height of the icon to 0.

Eh, I just created my own lore by thinking that my avatar knows how the PDA works and uses the GPS system of the PDA to pinpoint other squads.

Maybe he's on underground level, there are some anomalies and buildings they can fall into.
