A model/skin/Map-Add mod that adds a plethora of new enemies, weapons, level-edits and skirmishes to Hal-Life. VERY IMPORTANT NOTES AT VERY BOTTOM OF DESCRIPTION.
This mod was uploaded in late 2009 and disappeared a few years later. I played it many times over the last few years but I've decided to finally upload the EXE installers for archival purposes.
I have to be frank, this mod is an interesting train-wreck. There is absolutely no hyperbole when I say this whole experience is a schizophrenic cluster-fuck of map-adds, monster additions and level changes that make no sense yet are so captivating in their bizarre existence you can't help but gawk at them.
Everything from a Russian Hind buzzing the Tram at the beginning of Half-Life or an Alligator in the the rail System just chillin' like a Villain, Vortigore nests and Pit Drones fighting Non-HECU marines as Black Op's run amok or German Shepherds assisting the HECU artillery Team.
Still, it's captivating. Perhaps it can be seen as a tool to persuade folks from making the same mistakes when they try to make a "Map-Add" mod.
This also came with a Low-Definition variant but I did not include that as I saw it quite unnecessary.
The levels themselves have been extended with some sequences taken straight out of Blue-Shift and Half-Life Visitors. This means the tram-sequence from the start of Half-Life has been extended by 3 times it's length. No, I am not kidding.
Bottom line, every model has been taken from other mods and they are too numerous to name. Just sit back and have fun as you plow through this amazing dumpster-fire of a mod.
IMPORTANT NOTE
I'm not sure why, but the mod does not save any changes to the options menu. Graphic and Control schemes are permanently locked with no means of altering them by the menu screen. The only way to change this is by editing the CONFIG file itself. That means things like Vsync, mouse movement, controls and other options must be ticked off accordingly, and since it runs on the Opposing Force engine, you can't just slap in your own custom HL config either. It must be done by hand.
AND DO TOUCH THE OPTIONS MENU AFTER DOING THIS
It will reset all your changed options back to the base package. You have been warned.
Despite that, I hope you enjoy this strange mod from way back yonder. If SixCentGeorge insists this be taken down then I will adhere to his wishes.
Oh, you've added this mod. I was actually pretty interested to try this train wreck.
Thank you :)
what's this?
A Hodge-podge of map-adds to the base half-life.
Makes little sense, but it can be fun when played drunk c;
To be honest, I never played Opposing Forces, and this S**t got crazy, I am trying it out, and i will definitely like it, I am a huge fan of war games, and HL is maybe not a war game, but an FPS shooter game, noice m8ty.
Thanks! I played this years ago and forgot about it until now.
there's a problem of this mod. can you check and fix it?
1: it's about training maps. i don't know what is going on but it work incorrectly. when i going to the outside to the tram waiting zone and starting the next maps. the next maps change black, or work incorrectly
2: it's about longjump: i can use longjump only at the end of lambda core map and the begin of the xen map. when i reached to the xen map at opfor and blueshift version, gornach lair, interlopper and nitilliah maps, i can't use longjump
thanks again for uploading this for me.
finally played through it now and it was pretty fun, it was a weird mess like you said.
But I was a bit disappointed because I was expecting a lot more custon enemies and stuff added.
if you upload the LD version I will replay it a second time.
