A lightweight overhaul of Revelation meant to be used with recent versions of VUI+ and other UI mods
Update/Disclaimer, March 2024:
After reading most comments I will only say this once. This will be the final version of the mod. I tried to fix the bugs in every way I could and while not perfect, should be more consistent with recent versions of VUI+ and especially M.U.X
Any users that play with MAPMO, it's the UI Tweaks Setting. Just disable it and you're good to go. Or, you can download my personal preset here.
If there's issues with the recipe menu, i'll get a look into that and fix it later down the line.
Several praises to Salamand3r and his guide for including it.
Introduction: Revelation Classic UI.... Where to begin? What started as a simple mod back in 2008 for fallout 3 that replaces some of the in-game prompts with Classic fallout styled variants became a hot downloader back in it's day, even when it was moved to NV it picked up more traction and got updated with some of the features of VUI+.
Unfortunately, like most things, it has to end... VUI+ gets constantly updated and gets better overtime making the version used now redundant, the textures/interface starts to get old, new mods like CPI and M.U.X began to take form and take Revelation's place and became practically broken with it's last major update being the aforementioned one with VUI+ being built in back in 2018.
Around 2am in 2022 I decided to fix some of the glaring issues with the current version of revelation to make it more functional and at least friendly with new hud/ui mods on the nexus.
With a simple deletion of a few outdated VUI+ files that are redundant, and a simple overwrite I give you this patch.
Features: So you might ask, "what's new in this """Lite""" Version? No one likes this anyhow!"- some bright minded users from Xnvse Discord.
Simple, it keeps the UI the mod originally intended to replace back in 2010 but making it more compatible with the recent version of VUI+. The features are insanely lightweight and makes it compatible with most UI mods made recently. (as shown before!)
As of this final version, it now includes the missing menus that Revelations Extra UI added!
Installation/Requirements: VUI+ Is a MUST and will not work without it!
Entirely Optional or not this mod will work with Vanilla Clean Hud and Consistent Pip Boy Icons out of the box without any patching. (Side note. Clean hud's font is insanely large in some aspects and will seap out of the menu boxes.)
Highly Recommended but entirely optional, its 100% Compatible with Anro's Revelation Preset from his M.U.X Interface.
Just like any other mod, I HIGHLY recommend downloading this mod using Mo2. Otherwise good luck doing it manually.
As for LO, Just take a gander at this attachment and then replicate it in MO2 (you can ignore the unchecked mods. Rest are up for grabs that isn't VUI/M.U.X Related)
Bugs/"It Just Works." - Todd Howard: Much like any Bethesda Game at Launch or other mods this mod ain't perfect. With this, VUI+, and the two "Jesus H-Christ" Mods, at launch the game will take a little while to load up the menu. Update, Thotep made an uncompressed texture fix that should halve the loading time, I highly recommend it!
(Update: March 2024, Thotep's texture fix is now packaged with this mod from the get-go. It's not needed anymore.)
WASD compatibility for VUI is something far beyond my reach of XML knowledge. So if anyone asks, sorry. No patch.
This mod will have some issues with text and YUI Icons, but as long as you can handle seeing text seeping out of the boxes or misplaced icons in YUI's case, you'll be fine...
I also read on some incompatibilities for Classic Fallout Font but since I don't personally use it, can't confirm. Anyone has any evidence or knowledge how to fix it, let me know!
(2024 Update: Anro19 made a how-to guide on fixing the mis-aligned Icon patch in VUIE. I reccomend reading it!)
As for other bugs, inform me if there are any bugs you encountered while playing this.
Credits/"Thanks A Lot!" - Ernest Tubb: I would like to thank before I finish up:
SGHi, For creating the OG version all the way back in 2008 and the VUI Version I used as a base. Hope retirement from modding is doing you well!
Salamand3r-, For including it in his guide. Join his server!
Axonis, For his blessing and giving me the license for this!
Thotep, for creating an uncompressed texture patch!
killer0807, for creating the amazing Revelations UI Extra Collections Pack.
Special Shoutout to Anro19 for making a revelation preset in his hud overhaul. (Grab it. Now.)
Frens on Discord, for keeping me sane.
And you for downloading my first and only thing so far to F:NV Modding. (Not really I have made a few patches for personal use and this theme replacer. :snig:)
Other than that as Roy Rogers would always say, "Goodbye and good luck! May the good lord take a likin' to ya!" - PRR6755 aka Punished Pennsy.
Conflicts with Stewie's tweaks WASD menu option. I edited the XML to change accept from A to E, but don't know if there's a better way for it to recognize the setting. Otherwise it's awesome; thanks man!
Huh... Never knew that. thanks! I don't use that WASD option anyhow but thanks for the heads up
I can help you integrate the WASD options if you need it.
Thanks man and good to see the useful install info/details about the mod ,appreciated.
Not sure why this isn't working for me, I have this loaded above everything except VUI and I don't see any of this mods UI, only VUI.
Mod has since became incompatible with VUI+ as of version 9
are you sure? Last I checked with the dev version I had it worked fine
by the dev version do you mean the 9.10 version thats available here on moddb?
dev version of this mod here.
works with clean vanilla hud + vui+ too?
yes
This doesnt work. I've been trying for hours
did you read the requirements???
HI! So this is my order
VUI+
Revelations (from Nexus, VUI version)
This mod
Uncompressed Textures
Clean HUD
is this good?
you do not need the VUI revelations,
Load order should be VUI, this mod, Uncompressed Textures, then Clean Hud
has there been an update whether or not this will have WASD support?

it's a bit incompatible with ySI - Sorting Icons, is there a way to fix it?
that's a first time I heard of an issue like that.
Odd. I'll look into it.
Container menu
With VUI+: Imgur.com
With VUI+ and Classic font with accents: Imgur.com
looks more like an issue with classic fonts to me.. sorry son.
VUI+ with classic font without revelation lite: Imgur.com
i think classic font is not the problem, but if you can find something about that i would appreciate your help, thanks

This is great, I only miss seeing my companions' carry weight when trading with them. Is there a way to make that visible again from VUI+?
I’m not an expert in xmls so I’m not so sure.
Any one know where I can change the font size to keep "continuar" and "restablecer" inside the button?

I could be wrong, but I believe this requires an update before it will work with version 9.48 of VUI+.
Loading with this being the only mod overwriting VUI+ and I get a message from VUI+ stating that there is an installation error (https://imgur.com/a/ucpHFWd). When I went digging I compared tutorial_menu.xml for both VUI++ and Revelation Lite, and they have completely different structure.
I am running this on a WIP TTW build I just started, but I do not believe that is relevant. Thanks for the modding. You have made many of my playthroughs better.
EDIT: I got this working just fine once I enabled MUX
Hello! id like to report a bug in which i get the "Vanilla UI+ has detected an installation error drag vanilla ui+..." when i use the hud editor and this mod together has anyone else had this issue before?
> Hud Editor
Gonna stop you right there my boy
wait why?
oooooooooooh...
I see thanks!
Update: before anyone asks, YES I will try and work out ways to make this work with Extension 1.07.
keyword is try.
There's an issue where the Recipe menu has no background, with the latest update. Everything else seems to work fine, though!
It was a mistake by Nehed. I asked him about it as well and he'll roll it out in a next update. Hopefully.
Is there a way to get this to function with Classic Fallout Fonts, or something similar? Currently the text is misaligned. No big deal if not, it just would really complete the whole effect.
I got zero clue. I'm sorry
Well, maybe somebody less smoothbrained than myself can figure out something. Great mod anyway, appreciate the response.
There is one issue I suspect may be related to using an ultrawide resolution, the NPC dialogue is shunted off to one side and misaligned like in this image: Imgur.com
The latest version the Sleep/Wait menu shows WAIT and CANCEL as "W" and "E" buttons respectively but they don't work and "E" key instead acts as WAIT. Could it be some sort of mod conflicts on my end? Previous version was working okay with my current set up.
I've been wondering how to fix that.
My best idea was to just simply rename the W and E to what it's labeled for on the WASD (IIRC its X and E?) But I'll come back to ya when I check it out.
Thanks for bringing it up to here. I've known about it but completely forgotten about it cause of life.
