Allows you to put machine pistols and sawed-off shotguns in the knife/handgun slot and use them one-handed. V1.2.2 -> fixed some clipping issues
This extends their use a bit beyond the early stages of the game, and it is what MPs are made for anyways. Unfortunately I could not figure out how to increase recoil or dispersion when used with a single hand.
Balanced? Probably not. Fun? Yes!
Supported guns:
*You can use the M79 one-handed if you really need to fire 40mm grenades while looking at your watch, but it is more intended as a backup option for loadouts without under-barrel launchers. The one-handed reload animation is pretty funny.
If you don't like the changes to a specific gun, just delete the corresponding file from the config folder.
Includes new inventory icons of the weapons with folded stocks and short magazines to make them 2x1 and fit the slot. Icons for the sawed-off shotguns and M79 have been altered to make them fit.
Icons are now in a separate file, which should improve compatibility with other mods. I don't recall exactly, but I think this doesn't work for all DX versions.
Not compatible with other mods that change these weapon configs, custom anims or weapon position changes may cause clipping.

Good idea, thanks a lot for implementing! It would be great to add more TOZ-66 and TOZ-34 sawn-off shotguns.
I considered adding the sawn-off shotguns, but I'm not sure whether they aren't too large. Maybe adding a very short custom shotty would work.

Sick.. I wonder if there's any way to somehow manage dual wielding if you were to continue experimenting with this mod creatively.
Dual wielding submachine guns or pistols is the first thought that came to mind when I first equipped a flashlight and pistol together.
When installing this, if I don't have any mods that change the icons, would I just install the files in the main_files folder?
Dual wielding is probably not a simple hack, since tools and weapons work a bit differently. Maybe I'll experiment with it a little.
If you don't run mods that change icons, you should be fine with just installing the main_files folder.
Do you use any hands retexturing mods? I don`t remember such gloves neither in the vanilla game nor in T.H.A.P...
Nope, they are vanilla. It's the PSZ-9d proto Exo (Duty).
Does this work with Boomsticks and Sharpsticks?
I haven't tested it, but probably not. BaS changes a lot of weapons and also has its own items. Maybe I will look into a compatibility option.
Just tried it with BaS and updated the addon. Worked for me, you will need to install the Merged Icons Replacement option after the main files.

Yeah sorry about that, I think that would need to be fixed in the animation files, and I'm no animator.
The lowered weapon coordinate numbers are handled in the defines.ltx in the configs folder. This is just for two handed weapons. Pistols are still handled in their own ltx files individually. At least that's been my experience.
Edit: Keep in mind this will affect all the rifles' positions.
Turns out you can still override them in the individual files without affecting the other SMGs and shotguns. Thank you!
i'm reinstall addon, but Toz-34 (vertical) and kiparis not fixen (run animation)
I tinkered with it a bit, but to properly change the animations I would need to learn how to do animations- not happening any time soon. For now, I swapped in some existing animations of other weapons that should get rid of the worst clipping.
I have broken kiparis icon, and cut in half shotguns icon althought I've instaled compatibility patches.
Edit.1 I've found a problem, can you do compatibility patch with tarkov medical ? Medical items have not icons after this addon :/
I've changed the custom icons to use a separate file, this should work now.

I have a problem with this mod: after installing it weapon in 1st slot (knife one) does not shown, and I cannot change weapons to other slots. Weapons affected by this mod cannot be drawn from other slots either. What should I do?
That's weird. It's probably an incompatibility with another mod, but I couldn't say which one. Sorry, I can't help you there.
It's Blindside's weapon re-animation mod. For some reason i still can use SMGs. Problem is only with TOZ shotguns (even long ones). I dunno, everything worked fine, but for some reason it just broke. Same for other stalkers, they just draw their sawn-offs over and over unable to shoot. Moddb.com

You might want to check Grok's ballistic overhaul for his enhanced recoil script. It might help to improve recoil for custom sidearms.

Hi! good mod, but can you also make that, double-clicking on a pistol, that weapon goes in the knife slot, instead of on secondary?
Setting the slot in the weapon configs doesn't do the trick, so it's either something in the interface configs, scripts, or even compiled into the exe. I'll keep a look on that, I'd like that feature myself.

You can already put handguns into the knife slot in the vanilla version of Anomaly :)
40 hours in and I still didn't know you could put pistols in the knife slot.
maybe instead of making a reload animation maybe just put both hands back then the reload animation then the hands go back to original position?

Yeah, Blindside's overwrites the configs of those guns. I've added a compatibility option. Was planning to do that anyways since I use it myself.
using it with Full upgrade's current version and trying to upgrade the weapons causes a crash, any plans for a fix?

I gotta say, man. Props to you. These guns you modified, I never say any streamer using them, ever. Not only that, I personally never used them, with the possible exception of the sawn-off shotgun, but only at the very beginning of the game. Outside of that, not only I never use them, sometimes I never pick them for selling later.
And even more, I always wondered why someone couldn't use them with a flashlight, detector or whatever on the other hand. Ok, one might say because of the recoil, but in a real-life situation, I can completely see someone using this type of gun on one hand only while using something else on the other one. And since Stalker is all about immersion, your mod comes not only to balance weapons that never see the light of the day, but also to add a touch of realism as well.

Edit: While your addon is wonderful, there seem to be some problems, besides those that you already patched out.
1. The modified weapons don't seem to make any noise while reloading, at least most of the time. Not only that, I was under the impression that it also affected other weapons' noise reload, like some shotguns;
and
2. The modified weapons don't seem to be Anomaly Magazines friendly (the addon). Doesn't matter if you put mags on the loadout, they don't reload automatically when you press the "R" button. You have to check in the mag manually, inside the backpack.
Thank you! I haven't had any problems with missing SFX, so most likely it's another mod that's causing the sound issue. I've tested Anomaly Magazines (usually I don't use that one)- it seemed to work normal for me. Once you added a mag to the loadout, the reload button works normally. No reason it shouldn't really, the two addons don't interfere with each other's files.
Also, I feel SMGs are really underrated. I've found the MP7 works actually better for me against mutants / random encounters than, say, a Saiga. The fast firing rates make more than up for the lower power.
