Inspired by the Kane's Challenge cutscene videos for the Xbox version of Kane's Wrath, this file contains nine challenge maps pitting your skills against GDI, Steel Talons, ZOCOM Nod, Black Hand, Marked of Kane, Scrin and Reaper 17 and Traveller 59 on their home turfs.
To install this challenge:
1.Make sure you have Kane's Wrath (duh).
2.Extract the mission folder from the .zip file.
3.Place the mission folder to AppData>Roaming>Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath>Maps
The destination may vary upon which windows you are using e.g. for windows 10 it should be:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath\Maps
You may need to search for App Data as it can be a hidden file. If you are unsure how to access it, please look online.
4.Open Kane's Wrath and select Skirmish>Custom Maps, the mission title will be in the list.
GDI Challenge map:
You must compete with GDI to take over all six control nodes. As this is a fortified Blue Zone, GDI will control five nodes at the beginning where as you will only control one. Depending on the difficulty you select, GDI will retaliate once you take a certain amount of control nodes, after a set amount of time, or if you get too close to their main base across the dam. Kane has granted you the option to pick one of a number of armies for this battle against his oldest adversary. Choose well, as the last thing you want to do is disappoint the Messiah.
Do not mar the Brotherhood's name any further.

Nod Challenge map:
Kane wishes to test your accuracy. There are several Voice of Kane statues in North Africa which MUST NOT be destroyed as you fight your brothers. Fight your brothers quickly but carefully as your life will be forfeit should even one of the Messiah's statues fall. Kane rewards those who think quickly. That is all.
Update 3
Scrin Challenge map:
We have become aware of a Visitor Mothership, defended by a large base, in the Balkan mountains. Our scouts report that the Mothership is currently dormant but heavily guarded. They also spotted several plant-like structures scattered around the mountains which we believe either regenerates or protects the Mothership. Kane wants you to show the Visitors who is truly in control of Earth. Destroy the plant-like structures before bringing down the Mothership, then show the true strength of Nod by wiping out the Visitors to force their efforts into something more...productive for the Brotherhood. Kane rewards those to take their time. That is all.
NOTE: The Life Form Plants will be invisible/unselectable if their health is around 50%. If you see smoke where the Plants are, force-fire on the smoke to ensure the Plants are destroyed.

Steel Talons Challenge map:
The Steel Talons wish to deny us our technological advances over them in Australia. They have repurposed their Pulse Scanners and turned them into Tech Inhibitors. Destroy each Inhibitor to regain parts of your tech tree and then punish the heathens by reducing them to a mere footnote int the pages of history. That is all.

Black Hand Challenge map:
Brother Marcion has invited you to the Ritual of Veterancy Battle. In a newly conquered Blue Zone, Maricon has constructed an Academy which grants veterancy training for his Black Hand Squads, Flame Tanks and Commandos. Capturing the academy will not only deny the Black Hand's veterancy bonus, but will also grant you veterancy crates at your starting location. Kane will be watching this ritual with great interest.

Reaper 17 Challenge map:
A battle between the Black Hand and ZOCOM was interrupted by an alien force that landed on the summit of the mountain. These Visitors wiped out both armies within a matter of minutes before constructing structures we are calling 'Terraforming Nexus'. Our Science Ministry believe these structure greatly increase the growth rate of local Tiberium fields as well as perform extracting operations similar to Tiberium Spikes. Therefore, Kane wants you to secure the area so that we can mass-harvest the area at a later time. You will be unable to construct refineries so you must capture Terraforming Nexuses in order to establish your economy. Kane will be watching with great interest. Do not fail him.

ZOCOM Challenge Map:
ZOCOM has established a network of Tiberium Research Labs in the Mediterranean Red Zone. These labs are not dissimilar to the one you destroyed in Australia with the Black Hand. However, our scouts believe only one of these labs is real. You must establish a base and locate and destroy the real Tiberium Research Lab before ZOCOM has a chance to overrun you.
Kane favours those who do not indulge with too much red wine when testing maps on Christmas/Boxing Day.

i missed playing new c&C 3 missions! great!
played it. cant wait for the next challenge! i liked the faction selector but sometimes i think its good for the developer to put specific faction to play not let the player decide as i can easily take a faction which has a lot of advantages and make the map unfair for the enemy or playing as was not intended reducing the challenge quality
I disagree, this is inspired by Zero Hour's Generals Challenge which was great for replayability because of the choice of Generals you can choose from. Besides, the AI has a massive advantage in money and firepower from the start so if a player finds an advantage of their own, I encourage them to use it for these challenges.
Replace installation path in the instruction to %appdata%\Command and Conquer 3 Kanes Wrath\Maps for the Origin version and %appdata%\Command & Conquer 3 Kane's Wrath\Maps for the Steam version.
After beating it on hard I have a few suggestions and minor bugs to report if it's alright:
- The control points change color well but they don't change the logo back to GDI after getting recapped
- The AI's harvesters get stuck quite a bit, although that's mostly the game's fault
- After gutting the AI's cash flow the game turns into a bit of a chore as it takes a while mop up the rest. Some continuous reinforcement waves which ramp up in difficulty every X time could add both more pressure to the mission and make it more interesting in general. That is just a personal issue though, and doesn't quite vibe with some missions so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- The weird blue fireman is watching. Who are you. What do you want. Leave me and my beam cannons alone

-I wish I could fix the issue with the control point logo not turning back to GDI, but I honestly don't know how. My guess is that the control points' code wasn't completed as they were removed from game itself
-Yeah, I think the AI Harvesters getting stuck has to do with pathfinding, to be fair though, I did make some of those passes to the fields narrow
-I understand what you're saying regarding mopping up being a chore, but wiping out GDI is optional since you don't need to in order to control all six points (The AI does cheat by gaining more cash when they run out btw)
-Weird blue fireman is always watching... in fact... he might even be behind you and your beam cannons right now :p

You've done it very well, the rhythm of the scrin mission was game-studio quality,presented well and as good as CNC can get action-wise/ how I mean is how big the map is + how busy the battlefield gets non-stop enemy resistance + routing the enemy ( Played Black-hand and attacked clockwise to take out their armor) felt rewarding when enemy forces lessened and lessened.
I admit I lost the first round but on it was like armageddon for the enemy on the second one. Amazing concept.

Happy to! Your missions always break the mould with different mission designs- I would look into making missions myself but too focused on life stuff. Unless there was a map respository and I can just make the enemy base and basic objectives to start

i was waiting for the next challenge(4). my favorite was challenge 2, was interesting the third also but it was too hard for me and finally won but it broke the fun in the gameplay. indeed like above is mentioned, i also looked for challenge or new misison for c&c3; for a long time and usually not found much, dissapointed, compared to additinal content there is for c&c generals until all your custom missions and challenge came for c&c3; also.
Yeah, the Scrin challenge is certainly the hardest so far, but I think the most rewarding because of it. I doubt the remaining challenges will be as tough though. I'm not sure why not many C&C3;/KW custom missions exist, I guess it might be because it's harder to make custom missions feel authentic, especially with how broken KW is. I don't plan on making any more missions though.
maybe the building editor is harder or more troublesome compared to generals, dont know. and about more custom missions you do exactly what you want bro. you brought a lot of content at the table, easy or hard, cool or not so cool. at least you did something. you were not obliged to do anything from the start so we are grateful for your involvement.
The Difficulty spike is enormous on the Nod map. Does the difficulty selection in the custom map selector do anything because as soon as I attack anything I just get overwhelmed on all sides in an instant, and I set it on easy!
Yes it does. The Nod Stealth AI (White) can only build up to 4 Spectres and Stealth Tanks on easy.
The Player starts with 20000 credits on easy, 17500 on normal and 14000 credits on hard.
On easy, each Nod AI takes a long time to build units so long as you don't go close to their respective bases. On normal it takes slightly less time and on hard it takes less time than normal.
You also see the location of all Voice of Kane statues on easy and normal but not on hard.

played vs reaper 17, the map terrain is very detailed and nice. i like all these twists in which you need to play differently to win. tried with zocom this 8th challenge and is really awesome

I'm also glad to see you reviewing my playthroughs again! Since the radar has the Nod/Black Hand icon, I guess I should treat this as a Nod campaign. I will try challenging it with other factions after completing all 9 challenges.
You made such beautiful mission maps for both TW/TE and KW! Could you convert some of them into multiplayer so players could do different scenarios?

I meant Skirmish maps, like you did with "Petrova's gift" from TE campaign! Would be cool to see some more maps like this in Skirmish, both TW and KW!
The challenge maps would need to be altered slightly to make them somewhat fair in skirmish mode but it would certainly be doable

hi! playing the zocom challenge map with update7 with reaper-17 crashes the game after 40 minutes of playing when i try to save the game saying that i am out of memory(26 addresses).

i applied the 4g patch into the game and this fixed my out of memory crash, after that i still had a crash but i attack the enemy base because i built bulks of units into my base and that seemed to relieve the graphic engine of any bugs it had with my game and could save and finish the game without any more problems
played challenge vs marked of kane but could not fire myself with the legion spectre storm after i captured it. the rest of mission works well.
Just like it says in the pop-up message when it's ready to fire, you need to select a flashing beacon in order to use the Spectre storm. There are four beacons in total to choose from.

finished playing vs traveler 59 but felt weird. is this how map was intended? like everythign was an ilussion? i see a lot of scrin building which i cant interact, a motherload comes to my base but does not destroy me nor can be destroyed, the minimap does not equals the actual terrain and even the terrain is not real because i can walk on rivers. is this intended? i can get random quits from the game and when i need to pick my faction i cannot, shows only traver 59. i actually thought i did not install the map as i should, but i played till i won. strange mission!
still the overall package was fun and not many people did such detailed and enjoyable missions. thank you!

Well-designed maps. Don’t miss it.
MOK is my favorite. A perfect interlude for the campaign.
A few suggestions:
0. The game can crash with a DX error, especially in ST challenge. For players, I suggest try DXVK. (In my case, the game never crashes with DXVK.)
1. A few *.temp files remain. They can be removed in release.
2. What triggers the AI is not clear to players. Only through the worldbuilder can I see timers and trigger zones. It’s better to show a countdown timer.
ST: Easy, medium, hard AI are given respectively 20000, 30000, 20000 money. (Sorry I study math so it must be 20000, 30000, 40000.)
Zocom: The true lab seems fixed. The randomizer does not work for me.
MOK: Radio spam causes a huge fps drop. I know it may be intended, but it’s too frequent. I’d just disable this line before it drives me crazy.
Hard to click on a specter storm location.
Scrin: A bit hard to recognize units because of light and fog. Initial camera is not centered. Also check AI cheating, its money gonna run OOM.
T59: All factions become 59. It must be an illusion.

I don't remember having crashes with the ST challenge, nor heard of it happening before. Not sure why that happens.
The .temp files do nothing as far as I know, so it's no big deal if they're in or out out of the mission folders.
Although I understand, I disagree with you about showing a countdown timer. The challenges are based on Zero Hour's General Challenges, which never showed AI enable timers to the player. Granted, there were audio cues but there isn't a way that can be done well in these KW challenges. Besides, if the AI was just enabled by timers, players who rush will easily exploit a sleeping AI, hence the trigger areas.
ST's money, for some reason that Skirmish AI really doesn't do much with regards how much money it starts with, so changing 20000 to 40000 on hard isn't enough to warrant an update.
The labs aren't fixed in the ZOCOM challenge, nor is it randomised, it's based on something you must do and when you do it. So if you're consistent you're going to end up with the same one. I know it's not a great system but I can't get randomised to work.
I'm not sure what you mean by radio spam. With the Spectre Storm, the four beacons should be flashing and selectable once its ready to use.
Fair point about the light and fog. I know the initial camera not being centred can be annoying, but again it's one of things that don't warrant an update on it's own, especially as I don't have the time right now to update it.
As for Traveller 59, there's only way to find out if it's an illusion or not :p
