Contains tweaks, additional items and new crafting system for Axebeard's Fieldcraft addon.
This addon builds up on the original Axebeard's Fieldcraft addon in terms of tweaks, new items, new crafting system and crafting recipes.
- updated version of my Outfit Disassemble addon
- FieldCraft Balance Tweaks by bugsysboy21.
- Does NOT require a new game!
- Compatible with LD 1.3+!
- Contains [1.3+patch]trader supplies fix
- Compatible with TRX A-life Revamp v2.1
- LAST DAY 1.3 Note: There are now two dismantling mechanics in the game - new one introduced by AWR addon and the old drag&drop from FCO. Certain crafting elements like metal plates, scrap, or weapon barrels are only obtainable through the old method, though. I will try to merge it properly in the future.
Addon uses "DRAG & DROP" functionality of the inventory to perform all sorts of interactions between items.
What you ALREADY could do with Fieldcraft:
- dismantle weapons into various spare parts with swiss knife / crowbar / hammer
- use knife to cut tarpaulin into cloth pieces
- use any alcohol to craft bandage from cloth pieces
- clean worn/rusty weapon barrels with steel wool/solvents/jerrycan etc.
- repair the guns using new barrel swap kits
What you can do now:
- dismantle outfits (swiss knife / crowbar) - can drop new items like glass, plastic pieces and copper wire
- use knife to also cut sleeping bags, backpacks, underwear and other cloth items into cloth pieces
- Craft bandage now works with each type of textile sheet
- Craft headlamp: 1. Combine plastic pieces with synthetic rope to create synthetic harness (new item). 2. Drop synthetic harness on flashlight to turn it into headlamp.
UPDATE v4:
- dismantling detectors now always drops proxy device, plastic, and copper wire
- now possible to disassemble IEDs to get back proxy device and copper wire (random drop chance)
- REWORKED IEDs, sleeping bag recipes (based on new Survival guide system)
- ADDED medkit and backpack recipes (also based on new Survival guide system)
- CRAFTING UI: Original item "Ukrainian Special Forces Survival Guide" from Misery has been reworked into an active item with new crafting UI (below). With it its now possible to craft more complex items with multiple components. Survival Guide can be looted or found in stashes as it was before.
How it works:
1. Select the item you would like to craft from the list (the required components show up on the left)
2. After clicking "Craft", the special item "Crafting package" will be created in your inventory
3. Drag&drop place the required items into the package (the instructions are on the package itself)
4. After all items have been gathered, you can "use" the package to craft the final item
UPDATE v5:
- increased chance of item drops after dismantling weapons / outfits -- a quality-of-life change so that the dismantling feels less mundane and pointless and is more rewarding even with low conditioned items
- more variability of item drops from outfits / weapons (metal scrap, metal plates etc.)
- crowbar and hammer are now displayed as 1x1 items in the inventory (for easier disassembling)
- NEW RECIPES: improvised metal plate (new item, weaker version of kevlar plate), army kettle, 4 weapon toolkits (single charge, from 25% condition) for pistols, shotguns, smallbore rifles, medium/large caliber rifles
- new icon for synth harness (now also craftable with plastic+rope)
- mine recipe reworked into a tripwire based mechanism with plastic pieces instead of proxi device
- trash items like walkie, radio, headlamp etc. are now salvageable with swiss knife
UPDATE v6:
- compatible with Last Day 1.3
- restored drag&drop dismantling with crowbar/hammer/swiss
- added barrel swap kits from original Fieldcraft - only working with weapon barrels dropped from drag&drop dismantling!
- added Survival guide to faction traders - also lowered the "buy_item_condition_factor" for these traders by ~30% (personal preference), so they will buy items with lower condition.
- AWR weapon parts, namely weapon barrels, triggers, and breech blocks (bolt carriers) are now compatible with FCO crafting recipes for all weapon toolkits
UPDATE v7:
- New item: Empty syringe - items that are injected as a syringe (morphine, glucose shot, stimpack, etc.) now leave an empty syringe after use
- NEW RECIPE: Improvised stimpack - recipe uses an empty syringe, to craft you have to stand near the fire
- added 1 worn 7.92mm barrel to the faction traders, since 7.92mm is pretty rare and hard to get
Items currently craftable through survival guide UI:
- First aid kit
- Improvised stimpack
- Backpack
- Sleeping bag
- Chemical based IED
- RPG warhead IED
- Mine
- Improvised protective plate
- Army kettle
- Handgun repair kit
- Shotgun repair kit
- Smallbore rifle repair kit
- Medium and large caliber rifle toolkit
Example of crafting package:
IMPORTANT: Once you commit your item to the package, you cant take it back!! Because of that, make sure you are able and you want to craft the item before actually placing the components into the package!
If you have an idea for some interesting recipe or dismantling option (something fun and not exploitable), please let me know in the comments. Enjoy!

Wow nice work , stalker is geting pretty complex holly molly, i cznt wait till they add back packs with invintory slots like dayz standalone.
Nice! thanks again, really glad you added the IED crafting...keep it up
#1 essential add-on for Last Day 1.1
Good job bud, glad you're expanding on this. I sent you a message with a patch to merge my latest update with this if you want, it just fixes the descriptions of the Repair kits to be more informative about how they work now.
I updated the file and reuploaded, thanks!
Sweeeeet, I really want this mod to grow. With the conditions of the zone it makes sense that there would be a large amount of jury-rigged items. Keep it up!
I hope in the future there might be a way to create recipes with more than two items, by placing them in a special backpack with a special inventory or something. Like for example, creating a medkit would require a sewing kit for stitching up wounds, maybe vodka for sterilization, cloth sheets to serve as wraps and probably a painkiller of some kind.
yea combining multiple items would be super cool, but unfortunately that would require rework of the script from the ground up, and for that I currently don't have the necessary knowledge. but we can dream :)
Can you add the Sleeping Bag as a craftable item, I was thinking of combining a 'Bed Spread' and 'Camouflage Tarp' to make a sleeping bag...Or maybe even better combo would be 'Compression Bag' and 'Bed Spread', I seem to find a crap ton of Compression bags for the sleeping bag, but its much harder to find the actual sleeping bag...outside of buying them from traders...unfortunately where I am I wont have access to a Trader for awhile
that's really good, I can do it. I would go with the bed spread / tarp combination, since compression bag serves more as a "container" for sleeping bag than an actual part of it.. If I have some time after work I can make a quick update today
Glad to see all of the Fieldcraft tweaks in one place, as well as the new recipes.
Seems like the developers of the mod over at VK will be including this addon. Vk.com
Is this something you're alright with? :o
absolutely, if they think it's good for the game I am glad I can contribute.. I was making these additions mostly for myself so I'm happy people like it
Alright! thanks for the sleeping bag recipe, my life as a stranded mercenary is easier now :D
PS- When dismantling artifact detectors for IED crafting, you dont always get a Proximity device...any way to make that 100% salvageable? I wouldnt really mind, but they're so expensive and rare, its disappointing to get nothing or just some plastic
such is the life of a stalker :D but yes, I am working on a way to make some items always drop
[error]Arguments : Can't open section 'wpn_addon_scope_susat_x1.6'.
Guess since last day removes most the scopes, it crashes at the l85 disassembly sometimes :/
I will check it thanks for report
I got a good one for you... Compression bag+synthetic Rope= Backpack?
i am going to give this a try, i hope its stable
I just updated the file so you can dl the new version if you want. Pretty stable so far, in case of problems let me know
nice work, looks beautiful
thanks mate, and thx for your input it was very valuable
WOW!
How to make a good mod great, well done.
I greatly appreciate your attention to the comments, and I'll give you my feedback on the add-on soon!
You actually pulled it off. Holy ****. Great work man!
thanks! I said yolo and became a lua programmer in a week :D (jk, it was a lot of trial and error but it worked out eventually :)
You did this in a week?
What guides/methods did you use? Nice work :)
noo, of course not :) only the core system / ui script.. I used the cooking script from misery as a base and went from that, I also have a background in programming so a lot of things was familiar for me. and for everything else there is google :D
Thanks for all the hard work on this! I originally used this mod with Last Day 1.1, but with 1.2 being released recently, I've been having a few issues. Most of basic drag and drop is working - for example I can dismantle outfits and weapons, but I'm not able to do anything with the Special Forces Guide to activate the crafting menu.
I'm playing on 1.2 currently as well and all works fine. If there is no "use" action on Survival guide then it's possible that you installed some other addon on top of FCO that overwrites some of the included files
I updated from 1.1 - 1.2, and have been using JSGME. I disabled all the mods, but when I spawn the 'survivalguide' from the Items (Trash) menu, all I get is the option to drop it.
Is this the correct item? Second, my understanding from the patch notes is FCO is included in 1.2, I don't have to install the mod separately, correct?
yea, this will be it - FCO is included in 1.2, but only v2 which didnt have the crafting UI yet.. so please download the v4 and put it on top - it will overwrite all the files from the previous version
Yup, that did it! Thanks for the reply!
Hey andre I got another few ideas for ya.... The ability to craft outfit/weapon repair kits would be awesome. With the ability to dismantle guns and get spare parts we could use those parts in the crafting system to make Weapon or ARmor repair kits...So a Small-Bore rifle kit could include Steel Wool, Gun oil, gun barrel?, and cloth sheet (just an example of the 'could be' recipe) And the (heavy?) Armor repair kit could include Textile/Cloth sheet, sewing kit, swiss knife, and Kevlar Sheet? I sort of came up with the recipes on the spot but the premise sounds nice and easy enough...let me know what you think
Ps- Good job on the 'always drop' proximity device update, real ease of life improvement...Anyway I was hoping you could adjust the recipe for the 'anti-personnel mine' to not include the proximity device in the recipe and instead implement a sort of simple 'trip-wire' type recipe...Something like>Copper wire+explosive+plastic/rope= mine...Seeing as the proximity device is technically better used for the bigger and more expensive IED's
PS2- The ability to salvage Broken radios or broken flashlights for copper wire on top of that would be nice
that's some good stuff man, I was thinking about crafting repair tools but it seems you are on the right track so I will use some of it definitely. I'm cooking a bigger update now, there will also be attachments crafting (armored plates, kevlar etc.) and some new items, but it will take a while, so keep it coming! thanks
(btw it's andrej, for the future reference :D but andre sounds cool too, so all good)
sounds good, will do...keep it up, its best add-on so far and the potential is endless, cant wait to see the next installment
Hi
Dumb question:
Is the 7.62 barrel swap supposed to work for all rifles of this diameter?
I was able to use it for the SVD, but the SKS doesn't appear.
Is there a variable that I don't get?
it should be there, probably your sks is under 45% cond
Thanks. I didn't realise that was a requirement.
it should be noted in the barrel kit description
Sorry if this has already been answered, but can this be added mid-playthrough?
yep
Appreciate the quick reply, thanks man.
Real nice, loving the improvements...Best add-on for Last Day if you ask me
What a great way to start the day -- thanks.
Amazing work man! It's mods like this that keep me going back to stalker over and over.
Reading the comments I see you're open to new ideas/suggestions so here it is:
It's already been said but the ability to craft outfit repair kits, same as you did with weapons would be amazing.
Might be a bit tedious to implement but being able to craft Ammo would be nice, using powder cans or explosives like grenades you can dismantle to get powder and some other stuff... It shouldn't be brand new ammo tho... just a better alternative to using damaged/old one.
Quality of life improvement (if it's possible) would be to have a checkmark / text highlighted or in a different color when you add an element to your recipe, to keep track more easily (I know the kit gets updated with an image of the element you just added but if you do a lot of recipes it gets confusing / hard to see where you're at after a lot of elements have already been added).
Anyways, cheers and keep on the good work!
thanks, yes the outfit toolkits are definitely gonna be a thing but since I have a lot of things to do "irl" right now, unfortunately it will have to wait for some time. But it surely is on my radar as a next update to do + some other stuff..
As for the package text marking, that would be cool I guess but the text of each package is now always updated with what ingredient you should add next (if I didnt miss any). So going through all the strings again and adding another marking seems like a lot of tedious work when the information is already there - visually (as the package icon updates) and in the text itself. But still, if I have enough time, I can do it, for the future generations
Does anyone know how to edit "dragdrop_disassemble.script" in a way to allow the use of a Swiss Army Knife to disassemble all weapon categories. Or am I looking at entirely the wrong file?
for that you need to edit items_fieldcraft.ltx, find the swiss section and add to it all the item categories you want it to disassemble
I thought I was looking in the wrong file, thanks.
When I try to craft the shotgun repair kit it wont let me drag in the smoothbore barrels. This a bug or am i doing something wrong? Playing on the Last Day version 1.2
make sure you are dropping it correctly - so that the *leftmost* side of the barrel icon is in the package icon when you release it
