What about controllers? They like to inflict tinnitus as much as grenades do.

Really great mod, are planning on making some other mods just like this one (Weapon sounds, ennemy voice lines, etc by EFT sounds.)?

I have thought about them, there's a lot of work for the rifles and making the shotguns sounds work without editing the weapon_sounds.ltx which would make it largely uncompatible to most gunshot overhauls

Hey Ya! Great mod! There is a request: please make the sounds of walking a little quieter. Sounds too loud as a dinosaur walks. thank

Yeah, did an oopsie , and the sounds are way louder than the raw files I was using, going to release an update which uses different sounds from eft

Footsteps in games always bother me because when I walk around normally in the real world, I dont really hear my footsteps - or else they're barely noticeable. I wear heavy boots for work, tennis shows for casual - walking and running over all types of surfaces and never do my footsteps even register as a sound in the world. But here, footsteps stand out more than any other sound to the point where I'd rather not have them on at all.

Yes, while true that you don't hear them in real life, in games I think it's important, because without any kind of feedback on contact with the surface, the walking and running would feel way too floaty.

I'm probably going to rework these sounds in a bit, noticing how loud they are lol.

I agree, I like to be able to sneak, and be snuck up on. Adds to immersive feel and difficulty. Only a zombie or an idiot would stomp around like that on a battlefield. the other sounds are great though.

I love footsteps sounds and I always pay attention to it plus I've wanted this EXACT mod. However, I feel the sound is not fitting here. The character sounds like he is slamming the ground so hard on each step it's gonna break. There isn't much of an equipment rattel to justify for such heavy sounding steps either. The sound is one dimension. I think the volume needs to be brought down. Not downvoting this but sharing my opinion :)

Further, I'd like to state that imo some surfaces (like the indoors tile floor of Jupiter station) sound to be somehow rather a marshy/wet surface being walked one than a solid one.

That's probably because the map has set them as "concrete" i'll see if I can do something

Yeah, that was exactly what I was fearing, when I was exporting the sounds. I'm gonna take another look real fast and upload something if I come up with something better. They sounded okay in the raw files, but ingame it's way too loud just like you said, and I managed to find more gear sounds, which should fit better probably.

From were you have the idea to extend random sounds in mtl to 6, and why 6 and not 8 or 10 ?

The SDK limits the references to only 6, otherwise I would have used more.

In itself a wonderful mod, really well done, that makes the game much more "tangible" could you make the steps on concrete and grass a little bit louder? is unfortunately not as good to hear as the original

Keep it up and happy to have more of these mods!

Hi! It works on 1.5.1? If yes, this change the sound for all stalkers (and maybe zombies) or only for the player?

Hey!
Do you still support this mod?
I came across a VERY strange bug and this is definitely your mod.
At the dump (possibly in other locations) there are certain points at which radiation begins to rise very sharply for me. I accumulate the maximum dose in a few seconds in pretty good gear.

I know how crazy it sounds, but I started a new game with only your mod, got to the same place and ran into this problem again, while in a pure game this does not happen. The problem is solved by deleting the gamemtl.xr file. Perhaps, in addition to the volume of sounds, it also affects something else?

If you do not believe me, I can send a video ... Even I myself find it difficult to believe - this mod should replace sounds ... It would seem, what does radiation have to do with it.

In general, I hope you will fix it, otherwise I can hardly hear the sounds of footsteps without gamemtl.xr.

The only thing I changed in the gamemtl.xr is the amount of footsteps from 4 to 6. It's possible, that since the gamemtl is from an older version, it doesn't have the necessary changes that are present in the 1.5.1 file.

Sound volume shouldn't be affected at all, however I might have changed which sounds play on different surfaces, but it still doesn't really make sense.

I've moved largely from modding in moddb, using my free time for animations instead. Don't really have the motivation to upkeep these old mods, but if somebody makes fixes, they are more than welcome to upload them.

Well, I think I can do without gamemtl.x, your mod still does a good job of what it was created for!

Probably too late to the party, but as I saw a comment above said the video "old footage" sounds sound real crunchy, any possibility of an older version to download?

Actually, I just used your sounds right now, other than the n_default and some minor others, everything sounds punchy like it should. Now, I really wanted to edit the gamemtl.xr myself, but it seems that you cannot open engine sdk files with notepad. So would you kindly just write the 6 sound effects code into the new 1.5.1 gamemtl.xr ? I know you just mentioned that you don't update old **** but man I'm really digging the idea of 6 sfx for walking. Hope you see this. :')

Hey guys, what about the severe radiation bug? There are many ppl coming across it but is it random? As thousands have this mod, in fact this is one of the most popular Anomaly mods like damn, nearing 20kDLs that's huge. So maybe those few ppl are mistaken lol. But it is a worry for me. My dude can only smoke so many cigs lol. Any info on the random severe radiation bug due to the tarkov footsteps mod let me know!!

I don't know why but when I am crouching there are no sounds at all.

Is it works like it should be or something wrong on my side? My step sound is like 0.2 or 0.3 in MCM settings.

Thanks.
