UPDATED ON 2021-06-19
Alright, i am very pleased that over 500 people downloaded and tried out my mod! I hope you liked it! Today i have some news for everyone! I have updated this mod by making some changes to it. The majority of them are minor quality (bitrate) upgrades for existing tracks and several tracks were replaced with newer, more enjoyable substitutes! There were a handful of tracks that i wasn't happy with... For one, D_E2M8 is a music that plays in Tower of Babel map from The Ultimate Doom, the famous battle against the cyberdemon! The music that i previously chose was "Nobody told me about ID" by Andrew Hulshult, which is a kick-ass track, but the truth is, i was greatly enjoying elguitarTom's variant as well, just as much as Andrew's variant. After being guilt-ridden for a month for leaving out a cool track like that, i have decided to merge these two awesome tracks together into a single, 9 minutes long behemoth of a boss theme!
Another one, D_INTRO which is main menu music from The Ultimate DOOM. I wasn't happy with it's length, so i replaced it with a shorter but very good "Ruined world" by Xeotroid.
A previously missing "waiting for Romero to play" was added back!
The Final DOOM : TNT Evilution soundtrack was updated as well! A previously missing "agony rhapsody" was brought back into the soundtrack! A handful of tracks made by xeotroid received a quality boost, thanks to high quality conversion from FLAC into 224 kbps OGG.
And last, but certainly and definitely not least! Older music tracks made by JD Herrera Music were replaced by his own recently created remasters and manually enhanced originals! Hats off to him for providing me high quality music files for adding into collection!

What can i say, i'm a very big fan of Andrew Hulshult and elguitarTom! Both of them make all that good shit. Tried to search for variants made by less popular, lesser knows musicians but the truth is, you just can not compare. Andy and Tom are just too good for everybody else!
Now since i've gotten your attention, let me tell you a little backstory about how this mod came to be. A couple of months ago i've gotten my hands on Doom Metal Vol 5 and Brutal DOOM mods by Sergeant_Mark_IV and started playing The Ultimate DOOM with them. There were a handful of cool tracks, but the majority of them had either sub-par (low bitrate) audio quality or not exactly enjoyable instrumental composition, so i thought to myself "I can do better than that", and thus my work slowly but steadily started. One track after another, a very large amount of SGT Mark 4's music roster was replaced with my own personal choices, that i think are much more suitable for DOOM games!
The majority of replacements come from elguitarTom's and Andrew Hulshult's discography, love the work of those guys! LOVE IT. The tracks that are available both in SGT MK 4's Doom metal vol 5 and my volume 6 - those tracks were enjoyable, so i kept them.
The mod was constantly playtested and adjusted specifically for GZDoom 4.5.0 in mind (latest version as of 2021-05-23), this mod may or may not work on other source ports, but it's guaranteed to work perfectly for GZDoom 4.5.0! This mod is best combined with Sergeant_Mark_IV's Brutal DOOM mod, which is 😂ucking awesome and can be found here:
If you found something that you really like and you'd like to listen to it while not in the game, feel free to download SLADE 3 doom editor and extract music files from DoomMetalVol6.wad!
And if you have any feedback, please leave it in comments section!
1. Simple method. If you're not using too many mods, you can drag-and-drop this on gzdoom.exe (or some other source port's executable) and launch any DOOM game of your choice (The Ultimate DOOM, DOOM 2, Plutonia or TNT evilution from final DOOM).
2. More complicated method. This one's for all of you modders out there. If you love all of your Brutal Dooms and your high definition textures and whatever else that you like to use, you should launch this mod in a shortcut autoloading sequence.
Quick reminder how to do it, for those that forgot or do not know:
Create a shortcut of gzdoom.exe . Click shortcut's properties, select "target" and write "DoomMetalVol6.wad" at the very end of "-file" sequence. The IWAD and important mods such as brutal doom or high quality texture replacements should be loaded first, DoomMetalVol6.wad should be at the end of loading sequence.
Here's an in-depth tutorial from zdoom website if my explanation is not sufficient:
And here's two examples how shortcut's "target" line is supposed to look like.
To play The Ultimate DOOM:
C:\Games\GZDoom\gzdoom.exe -file DOOM.WAD brutalv21.pk3 Tomtefars_Extension1.12.pk3 BRUTALDOOM_TEXTURE_PACK_FINAL.wad DoomMetalVol6.wad
To play DOOM 2:
C:\Games\GZDoom\gzdoom.exe -file DOOM2.WAD brutalv21.pk3 Tomtefars_Extension1.12.pk3 BRUTALDOOM_TEXTURE_PACK_FINAL.wad DoomMetalVol6.wad
IWAD and important mods FIRST, Doom Metal Volume 6 wad LAST.
PLEASE PAY ATTENTION!
Since maximum audio volume in GZDoom is busted, DO NOT play the music at 100 % volume. If you'll do that the audio will be distorted and ear-rape'y.
For the most optimal listening experience go to Options > Sound options and then set "music volume" to either 0.55 or 0.60 value.
Big shoutout to finfr0sk whose artwork is featured in mod's preview image!
Huge shoutout to JD Herrera for providing me high quality music files from personal collection and for being an absolute legend!
