Hi there! I downloaded your mod and it looks great but there is a problem with some scopes from BAS guns like the AK 12 Mono kit which crashes your game. There are some lines missing from the xml files. Apart from that it works great and it has no performance hit.
Could you make 2D scopes for the AUG, Howa and other guns from BAS that use a low fps 3D scopes? Thank you the the mod!

Which version of BaS are you using?

Are you using an older version? You mentioned AK Mono Kit, which was found in an earlier version of BaS. The newer name is called "AK12 Monolith Upgraded" or "AK12 Monolith Tactical kit

I tested it with the lastest version of Boomsticks and Sharpsticks, which is 2021 November 28.

I'll see if I can figure out how to edit those guns you've mentioned.

I am using BAS 28 november 2021 version. I might have called the ak 12 mono by the wrong name because I got used to calling it mono kit.

I checked my game today and the howa has a 2d scope. Maybe it didnt update the textures or something idk.

I found an issue with the vss vintorez with integrated tot scope. The 2d texture shows some blackbars around the reticle bt the margins of the screen are not covered.

I found some guns that have low fps 3d scopes and I was hoping you could make a patch for them. I guess you know about the ak 5c isg special and the fn scar-h specialist but the AUG A1 BAS, Aug A1 CQB BAS have bad 3D scopes as well.

I really appreciate the work you put into the mod and the quality of it. Thank you

Fixed the tot scope, and BaS AUG scopes.

Also, I'm really sorry to disappoint you with this news.

There are way too many scopes and way too many guns. That makes it extremely tedious to screenshot each individual gun with each indivudal scopes, then carefully edit the screenshots with an image editing software.

If I make a 2D picture for AN-94 + PK-A, I will also have to create separate pictures for every single gun that supports the PK-A scope, not to mention every other scope + other guns. Otherwise it just looks weird. If the scopes were bigger in size (not zoom but how much screen space it takes up like the ACOG) it wouldn't be a problem.

If 2D pictures existed in gamedata/texture for those low zoom/no zoom scopes, it would be less tedious.

I'm sorry, I'm really busy in life so I don't have too much time with modding every single gun to for the 2D scope pictures.

Are you sure about Howa having a 3D scope? I triple checked and it's 2D.

I checked the gamedata/textures folder, I found lot of 2D scope pictures for other scopes, it seems to be missing the 2D pictures for certain scopes like the ones used on these guns:

-"AK 5C ISG Special (Eotech G33.STS and VORTEX RAZOR UH-1)"
-"FN Scar-H Specialist Operator (Leupold LCO and Leupold D'evo"

Which means I have to manually create the scope picture from screenshots. It's going to take a while. However I can replace the AUG scopes from BaS since I already have the 2D pictures for it.

If you don't mind, I could substitue the missing 2D scopes pictures with ACOGs or other scopes for now.

For the G36, isn’t that reticle supposed to be for the bottom scope? Isn’t the top sight supposed to be some sort of red dot?

Are you using The G36 Pack? That's probably causing the bug. This mod was meant to be a substitute for The G36 Pack because BaS doesn't seem to be compatible with The G36 Pack. I made this addon with BaS in mind.

Another question arose: is it possible to somehow activate the effect of the "ShaderDrivenScopes" addon on your scopes? (https://www.moddb.com/mods/stalker-anomaly/addons/shader-based-2d-scopes-151dx11engine-mod)

I removed the fixes for the G36K scope and everything looks fine

Heheh, great work on this! I do find it funny that the scope for the AUG shows a Gewher 43 under it though. Like whenever you don't look at your rifle it reverts to its diabolical roots!

Anyway, nice work! 2D scopes are always nice to have, especially ones of such high quality!

You'll have to make a mini patch. If scopes_16 is the only overwriting file, it *should* be fairly easy tbh. All you need to do is check which wpn_crosshair items are missing from this mod in its scopes_16 file compared to the ones in the AR pack. Copy them in this mod's scopes_16 file and it should work. (unless other AR pack files are being overwritten by this mod)

Sadly the plugin that replaces bas pip scopes while it works it doesn't actually fix the fps drop because the game still seems to be rendering the pip scope

I noticed that the new AUG's scope is simply a recolor of the G43 scope. I've made a custom AUG scope for a personnal mod that is essentially a screenshot from the game using adjustable HUD scopes and some editing to line up things correctly. If anybody wishes to have it, just PM me and I'll give the file to you. Also, Zhangfu you can integrate it to your mod if you wish.

This is awesome, with all due respect to the hard work of the Anomaly devs, these 3D scopes are awful to aim, there should be an option to use only 2D ones, but anyway, thanks for the mod, gonna try it!

You need to change the (or add) in the config files a line that says scope_texture, hten write the name of the file to use as a scope texture after the "=" sign. The files are organised by weapon variants in the config/items/weapon folder I believe. You'll need to also add a "1" on the scope_status line and change the scope_zoom_factor to something appropriate for the scope (25 is around 4x zoom). WARNING: the first item of the list is the "default" and all other weapons below it will use its config unless specified otherwise. This is important for AUGs because the default variant is the A1 version which will use a scope texture, but the A2s and A3's might not. If you want a weapon to not use a scope texture, you'll have to leave to write "scope_texture" then leave the section after the "=" empty. That's as short as I can say it. You'll also need to see if you have an appropriate texture for the scope you want in 2D. If you add custom new scope texture files, you'll also need to update the scopes16.xml file and another one I forgot the name in the item texture description folder I believe. It's fairly technical to do, but once you know all the steps it becomes easy. If you have a problem, like a CTD or the game won't start, the crash log usually has the info you need. You can also just DM me here.

Pls consider updating and adding a compatibility patch for the latest Boomsticks version. Trying to spawn any rifle from Boomsticks that comes equipped with the “SCHMIDTBENDERII” scope crashes the game. Just tested a few more weapons from BaS. Two of the Boomsticks Kar98 variants also cause crashes. I managed to solve the issue by editing scopes16.xml and ui_ingame.xml files. I referenced the crashlog and added the missing lines from Boomsticks xml’s to this addons xml files and everything is now working as intended.
