This mod revises the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. movement style, shaping it into the style of movement that can be found in the Counter Strike: Global Offensive game. In addition to this, players' use of weaponry has also been replicated from the latter game and into the former. Allow me to explain further...
EDIT (07/04/2022): This addon is no longer being worked on as I am pursuing other S.T.A.L.K.E.R. projects and mods for other games, though elements of this mod may be used in any future projects that I work on.
This mod completely changes the movement style and speed of the player character. This does not affect the game's NPC characters, so you won't have to worry about them moving as if they were skating on ice. I still feel that any potential flaws (if any) could be highlighted if I was to publish it, hence my final decision to make this mod available to this creative community. Additional information on this mod can be found below...
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- This mod is only compatible with installations of Call of Chernobyl that utilize STCoP.
- This mod should be moderately functional in terms of it's compatibility with other mods. However, if there are any issues, please feel free to notify me.
GAMEPLAY CHANGES:
- The player is unable to sprint; instead, their movement speed has been changed from the default jog to a slow sprint. This will make the player's "walking" pace faster than usual.
- The player is unable to aim with most weapons, with the exception of most scoped weapons (i.e. sniper rifles). As a result of the changes in the .ltx files for most of the weapons, attachable scopes have been made redundant, leaving them to either be used as a source of income or a vanity item for your ranged weapons. If requested, I may change this - however, it is possible to change the "zoom_enabled" string from "false" to "true", and vice versa. I have been using a free program called "TeXworks" to edit these files.
- The player's jump height has met a slight increase, allowing for greater manoeuvrability for those intense gunfights.
- In most circumstances, the player may have problems with those long range gunfights. In one such scenario, the player could either try to acquire and/or utilize some form of long range weaponry, or they could crouch and fire for increased accuracy.
INSTALLATION:
1. Extract it, then copy the gamedata folder and use it to overwrite your current gamedata folder. Remember to back your files up!
2. Remember to have fun with it! Please tell me about your experiences with this mod, and let me know if there are any ways that I can improve it.
But why tho?
Just a funny little idea that I just felt that I had to mod into the game. It only required a few changes to the weapons' core values (i.e. "zoom_enabled" was set to "false", etc.) as well as some changes to the " actor.ltx" file. :D
Csgo is shitttt
Personally, I've never played the game, so it would be nearly impossible for me to formulate a proper opinion on it. However, I had to watch quite a bit of CS:GO gameplay on YouTube to even get a proper grasp as to how the characters moved around the maps in that game.
you should of done rainbow six siege instead
You say CSGO is **** yet you talk about Rainbow Six Siege...
Guess you don't know what real **** looks like. :p
CSGO and R6...
Cmon man do you even play SWAT 4 or the old rainbow six games?
Rogue_4TW It's crap for you, who does not know how to kill and keeps calling others hack, experience is one thing, hack is another and by the way you do not understand both sides.
Well said.
I play Rainbow six siege. Playing another game that has totally different controls it hard to get use to
I may consider doing a similar mod that emulates the Rainbow Six Siege movement style, though I'll have to do some extra homework in that regard (I haven't played that game, neither).

I'm late but still
I was wondering if changing movement was possible (bc in stalker it can is archaic a bit), since I got here and saw that it's possible could I suggest Insurgency? It's source game, basically heavily moded half life.might be more manageable.
I think its interesting, considering this hasnt been done before. Good stuff
I'm glad you like it. :)
This on SoC, we have pseudoclassic chernobyl shoot-em-up game lol
It also seems like we'll have two of 'em; I'm currently making a version of this for AO3.
