Texture improvements, terrain shadowmaps, particle changes, and basic snowfall weather for the CoC Winter Mod by Маньяк.
You can find Маньяк's original Winter Mod here.
Main changes:
- Fixed the bumpmaps of the asphalt road, zaton ground, jupiter ground, and electrical box textures
- Fixed the tiling of the rail, rock detail, and jupiter concrete textures
- Fixed the mismatched bumpmap of the floor tiles texture seen in some labs
- Fixed the mismatched floor tiles texture seen in yanov cellar and pripyat laundromat
- Fixed the broken radiator texture seen in pripyat laundromat
- Fixed the invisible anomalous bushes in bar and rostok
- Fixed distant terrain not being covered in snow on the SoC red forest and CNPP maps
- Made new textures for the cliffs and distant billboard trees in the SoC red forest
- Made winter textures for rocks in zaton and small reeds in zaton and jupiter that were missing them
- Added winter textures for certain trees and bushes in generators that were missing them
- Tweaked certain tree branches' mipmaps to make them properly visible from far away
- Replaced flying stone debris and leaf particles with bits of snow and twigs
- Restored terrain shadow maps, manually edited to fit the bright snowy landscape
- Improved terrain texture quality, resulting in less purple snow
- Option to disable grass
- Optional snowfall weather:
- Replaced the raindrops texture with a snowflakes texture
- Removed rain splashes
- Made the snowfall weather foggier and the falling snow less bright at night
Note that aside from the fog and brightness changes, the snowfall weather is nothing more than a texture-swapped rainfall, meaning the snowflakes fall pretty fast. I've put the snowfall files in a separate folder so that you can choose not to install them if you prefer to keep the original rain. Also, as an alternative, a similar modification made by enixgamer can be found here.

Installation:
Simply copy the gamedata folder(s) to your CoC installation directory and overwrite when prompted. Make sure to have the original Winter Mod already installed before doing that, of course.
HELL ******* YESSSSSSSSSSSS
Should also work with the "better snow footsteps" right? Moddb.com
Yes, my mod doesn't affect sounds so it's fine.
Bast3 this is way cool what
i call perfect enhancement.
now i gotta frame rate hit
but thats because im runnin
this with 20 or so other mods.
good immertion good job thank yu!
My mod probably uses a bit more memory than the stock winter mod, due to the terrain shadowmaps and the added mipmaps in some places, but it shouldn't make much of a difference. Although sometimes a small difference is indeed all it takes to run out of VRAM if you were already short on it.
Impressive, looks great!
Thanks!
Perhaps cost to remove (wipe with texture) grass? Perhaps cost to remove (wipe with texture) grass? I also saw that some mods made it possible to walk on water and removed the effect of steps on the water.
Making grass invisible is indeed possible. I gave it a try, you can download the files here: Mega.nz
It does make the maps look a bit empty in some places, but that's to be expected. I'll maybe add it to the main addon as an option if I ever do another update.
You might also want to reduce the amount of rendered grass as much as possible, since it won't be visible anyway. This can be done by going to [install directory]\appdata\user.ltx and setting these vars as follows:
r__detail_density 0.6
r__detail_radius 49
As for making the water solid, I don't quite know how to do that. Sorry.
I most say a winter look in stalker, looks very cool is almost a new game.
Can i install it on 1.5r6 ?
Yes. I used the 1.4.22 files to make it but it works fine with 1.5 R6 or other versions.
Why am i not gettin any snow?, can someone help me?, what happens is that the color of the ground slightly changes to somewhat greyish color
You probably forgot to install the base winter mod. This is only a patch for the actual winter mod which needs to be installed first.
