Decided to release the binocular set I've made a couple of months ago.
made for 0.6 HUD FOV
and touched the diffuse and speculars a bit to remove that lens looking white

- changed draw anim
- tweaked sprint a little
- changed aim animation to the same as idle animation(but different aim_pos values) to get a nicer interpolation from aim to idle

- Improve Draw anim to be more like the one in gunslinger

What is your FOV set at?, I have mine at 80FOV and they still appear close to my face.
I play on a 1920x1080p monitor if that helps.
there's a separate FOV slider in the options right below that one called HUD FOV, make sure its at 0.6 or 0.65 if you want to see a bit of the thumbs
maybe I'll force the hudfov in the config since this isnt going to have attachments or other detectors on the left hand
I'll update the addon to allow for an option for 0.4 HUD FOV users
check the addon now and install the patch for 0.4 HUD FOV and lemme know how it is.

when zooming with the binoculars nothing changes, it looks the same as vanilla, everything else works fine, I have the eft weapon reposition and BAS installed, it has a conflict with the mod, I don't know if that will be the problem
yup, its working fine, I havent touched the 2d scope texture
I don't know if it's too much to ask, but it would be a very good addition if you added a sound when you zoom

Is there any blur effect when i use the binoculars?
i'm seeing a blur effec during using it, is not a big issue but still there for me, is this intentional?

Ah i made it on my own but its heavily inspired by gunslinger, although i cannot really create anims at the quality STRIFER is making.

binocs work and look great but have this thing where after releasing they remain raised in hands and only go back down when moving. haven't tried the newest version but curious if this was solved.

sure thing, will try. it's entirely possible that it has a side reaction to something else, like EFT reposition.
so I stumbled upon the answer by accident, if it helps you fix or patch it: it's from the animation_common.script that is used more and more by weapon packs, including the recent high-quality gunslinger ports.

I have a feeling those scripts are here to stay because of how widespread they are. The problem with binocs is not game breaking but it is mildly annoying - no big deal either way!
and now, somehow... the binoculars uneffed themselves and work again without issues. No idea what changed, but I like it :)
It's possible that the animation_common script got updated in one of the recent gun releases, possibly from the gunslinger ports.
By the way, you should consider borrowing the visor texture overlay (the actual scope model you see when you look through them) from 'pack of new devices' addon - they have the best one of all I'd seen in Anomaly - very clean and elegant and go great with your model.
