In the mod archive are two folders for each weapon pack: more realistic zoom levels and scaled to FOV.
More realistic zoom levels, which is currently only available for Arsenal Overhaul and its Call of Misery port, aims for the following:
Scaled to FOV simply scales the default values to higher FOV values. The zoom levels are lower but keep the same ratio as the old zoom levels.
Instead of more realistic zoom levels, STCoP has an option for no zoom on iron sights at all. It is unlikely to recieve an update due to the oncoming release of Chernobyl Weapon Pack.
The hud_fov console command can be used to change the distance of the viewmodel, thus avoiding gaps in the weapon model.

I will never understand why people find no zoom for weapons to be realistic or enjoyable. I'm noy few inches away from my screen ffs

The "retarded" posture can prevent you from being disarmed in close quarters.
I wish we had that as a feature in Stalker and the ability to dynamically change the FOV to avoid being disarmed.

A friend got KOd by a gun like that. Had this oh so beautiful plum under his eye for days. It was like:

Maybe if somebody did it as an addon, but never in the official releases.
If the weapon packs used these values by default then any FOV under 75 would cause your screen to zoom out instead of in when aiming.
Can we change the default fov to 75? :p
These days probably almost everyone is at 16:9 or 16:10. But dunno if it's a good idea even then.
I rather keep my fov at 55. If 75 were going to be the default, I would love to see an addon reverting it to 55

some rifles are really far away now and lod idk whats it called is wrong i can see thru a piece of the stock for the rest a damn good job at that sir !

One of the AKs I was firing still has the zoom effect applied when just aiming with iron sights. I think it's the AK-103.
Some ironsighted weapons are meant to zoom in even at FOV 55. Kf it's something you want to deal with, instructions are in the description.

lol i just reinstalled the whole shebang but i forgot to put fov on 75 and allready installed this addon ,and now i changed it to 75 in options and it looks like 170 :o but i think thats a litle over reacted do i need to have fov on 75 before i install this ?

id can fov cmd and see if its up or down i gues ..
isnt the weapon alignd diffrently and nothing more ? maybe the zoom level when aimed but it shouldt mess with the fov setting right ? i can upload a picture on my profile if you want ,btw the fov says 75
This mod changes the field of view when aiming. It's supposed to. However, no weapon should zoom out if you have the right FOV files.
was working with unreal tournament editoer today again ,and fov isnt really diffrent in there maybe im just trippin but ill upload a picture or two

yeah i found out the hard way about hud_fov bit thats still on 55 in the game menu ,the ump doesnt zoom in when iron sighted n aimed :/
