wow that shows exactly how boring warp travel can be
Warp travel looks a bit too slow in this game. Warp speed does look awesome from inside a ship. When travelling between systems, I am hoping the game will be designed in such a way that you will have tasks to perform (e.g. visiting Engineering, co-ordinating the repairs of your ship if you were damaged in a battle, perhaps coming up with a battle plan or communicating with Starfleet Headquarters similar to the Admiral Liu dialogue from STBC) for 5 minutes or so while your ship travels around the system. However, I do also hope you get a 'SKIP' button for longer travel that would usually take a few days in ST.
Absolutely amazing! I love it. :3
Pretty sweet when you drop a few Warbirds and Federation starships in there and watch them duke it out. Who will come out on top?
Heh, and it's also good to check the beauty pass shots of the vessels to check them out, really look good in the engine. Though one error I noticed was the bump/normal mapping on the moon, need to reverse the effect as the craters on the surface look more like bubbles rising up rather than sinking into the surface as craters should. Other than that? Looks great.
HaydenB you dont deserve to wear that uniform ;p
Fancy xD
Nice. I like how the stars look when you're at warp, just like the show. Great work!
All that time at warp speed and the ship hadn't left the system. Looks more like impulse speed.
And the galaxy class - no matter how well rendered, as the case may be - is an utterly hideous ship!
The viewer has the Defiant, Intrepid (Voyager) and Romulan Warbird, so you can take your pick, though I did miss a good old fashioned Klingon vessel in the mix. Out of all the ships on show the Galaxy looks the most impressive due to the sheer scale of the thing, I don't mind the design of the thing myself, but yeah, there are much better Trek starship designs out there.
Personally, I think the galaxy class looks like a sausage dog that's had it's head forced through a lathe sideways. And my theory about the saucer seperation feature is that it was inspired by a constitution class (THE uggliest ever made) getting it's scrawny neck blown off.
