Post news Report RSS Unit Upgrades

Possible unit levelled upgrades, and a few unrevealed units. Also an update on Living World Map.

So, in the forums there was born a new idea: instead of buying upgrades, how about we reward units with upgrades by levelling up?
So, I compiled a series of ideas for what we could have - ofr course, this isn't the maximum extent of uints we are including in the mod, its just a sample group. (I like bad guys, so all this sample group are, naturally, bad guys)

Level 4: Tooth and Claw (Attack friendly units for experience)
Level 8: Pack Leader
Level 10: Lightning Attack (Increase Speed and Attack 60% for 40 seconds)

Half-Troll Marauders
Level 3: Barbarians (Attack friendly units for experience)
Level 5: Forged Blades (+50% Attack)
Level 9: Charge! (+100% Attack, -50% Defence, +30% Speed)

Half-Orc Troop
Level 3: Scavenged Armour (+30% Armour)

Spiderling Clutter
Level 3: Tough Hide (+50% Armour)
Level 6: Venomous Bite (+30% Attack and enemy sustains damage for 15 seconds)

Level 8: Maelstrom (Freezing Rain, Tornado, etc.)
Level 10: Dead of Winter (Summon 3 Lvl. 10 Greater Wights for 1 minute)

Elite units are single units, as in not part of a battalion.

Hyamentiri are bigger, nastier spiders than usual, and make Shelob seem like a walk in the park - as direct descendants of Ungoliant, they're not something you want to encounter, but hey, if you've got one on your side, have a little fun!

Also, I've almost VERY NEARLY finished the Living World Map of Arda. It's quite cool, if I do say so myself.

seems in order, apart from the goblin, easterling, hyamentiri, mumak, southron, and wyrm.
daerungwë is the correct sindar translation of 'great spider'.
mumak, southron, and wyrm should not be here at all.
easterlings should not have the mark of the southron.(we're talking abou the people of ulfang here!)
and goblins should be called 'lesser orcs'.

'part from that, looks GREAT!!!

Wait, wait, wait: Why no mumakil, southrons, or wyrms?

And Hyarmentiri = Dwellers of Hyarmentir (the land around Ungoliant's lair in Valinor).
Not only that, it sounds much cooler than 'Daerungwë'.

OK, I can accept the Mark of the Southron stuff.

And Goblins? Lesser orcs? Can you get any more pedantic?

cuz, no southrons in beleriand, no mumakil, and wyrms are just an EA innovation. ok, hyarmentiri sounds good (i forgot the name of that land.)
i just thought lesser orcs becuz goblin and orc are meant to be the same thing, according to tolkien. but if you say so, then yeah.

Awww... no mumakil? Well, fair enough, I can see your point.

But Wyrms? No, no, no, no... Scatha the Wyrm?
I know it doesn't happen often, but EA actually got something right: that there were fire-breathing serpentine wyrms
(Scatha was a mighty "long-worm" of the Grey Mountains - Wikipedia).

WORM not WYRM. they called the dragons long-worms. if we change it to long-worm, then i guess.

And an other question:Can you add more ability for the heros?
(I mean more than 5)

Yes, but heroes' levellings are probably a little way off yet. We'll reveal them... soon. Ish.

Hi everyone!

I have a suggestion:When you finished Angband fortress, you should add this final upgrade:-Tower of Thangorodrim. If the player buy this final upgrade in the fortress, it gives lot of bonus:

-(passive)The nearly units will be unseen(because the towers spread black smoke)
-(passive)Terror effect(When the enemy units near the fortress)
-(active)Blessing of Morgoth:It gives experience for the units.(The player must wait some time when he once used this spell)

I hope you understand what I want to say.
