Hello to you all. Since there wont be a Mod Expo this year I have decided to mix things up on moddb.com. We will be holding a mod expo of sorts. The modDB.com Mod Fest and you are more than welcome to join. How it will work:
modDB.com is holding its very own Mod Fest and you are being emailed to help promote the idea. The approach is "Any Game Any Mod". So with that we will allow any team to submit a mod for any game. This will be our first Mod Fest at the site and we want to make it fun.
For those who still haven't heard of our site we are the biggest data base for a mod to be listed and allow the leader of the mod to manage his own profile and mod profile. Our main goal is to bring the fun factor to modding for any game and this is just a way to do that.
We are no big company so if you do win it will be a small prize but it will be something. Do it for the fun and not the prize (hint hint). The link to the Mod Fest page is here.
So let the mod making begin. Once I see how many mods are into this I will post the rules and submission date!
Updates:
Mods: The mod can be for anything you want. Use your imagination and skill to out do the next guy. The judges are looking for the l33test mod to hit the pc this year.
Mapping: The mod needs at least 2 maps
Models: The mod needs at least 2 to 4 models doing something in the mod
Coding: This is the fun part for you mod teams. Try to think of different ways to use the sdk for the mod you make.
Some Basic Rules:
*me thinks mods need to be in alpha or pre beta status. NO RELEASED MODS.
*me thinks taking someone else's work and claiming it is yours = ban of moddb.com
*me thinks all submissions need to be in by the end of September more details soon.
Four screenshots and the link to your mod to download. Please tell us what game we need to play this mod and your name and email for us to get back to you. We are not flying you out to some exclusive city this is just a way to get the fun back into the mod scene. This is the dry mod season. We will try to come up with a nice prize for the mods but if not than you will just have to live. If you want to participate please send a "I'm in" email to us so we can see if we should go forth with this fun project.
So to rap this up email BlueWolf72@modDB.com if your into this. I need at least 10 to 20 mods to be submitted for this to be fun and work. All submissions will be listed in this article complete with a 1 paragraph review and at the end of it, the best modificiation will be featured for a month!
