We realize we haven't shown off a lot of what we have in the mod previously. Right now we are somewhere close to 70% complete with the mod. Most of our vehicle assets were already created for the mod long ago, or have just been added recently.
First off we would love to show off our amazingly iconic Fighter Jets. The Korean War was the first conflict in history where jet-on-jet combat took place. Both jets featured super modern swept back wings which helped them to reach breakneck speeds. We have here the Mig-15 and F-86 Sabre Jet.
For the US forces we have the A-1 (AD) Skyraider Attack aircraft sporting a massive armament of Napalm and bombs.
Here we are showing off our light Jeeps. The Americans have the Wiliys MB made famous in World War 2, and the KPA/PLA will be using the Soviet developed counterpart the Gaz-67.
For our fast attack, anti-infantry vehicle, we have the Ba-64B which is based on the Gaz-67 chassis and sporting a DP-28 Light Machine Gun on the turret.
In the Role of Troop Transport for the UN forces we have the M3 Half-Track with a M2 .50-caliber Machine Gun.
Moving on to our heavier armored vehicles, we have some tanks to show off.
Here we have our M4A1 Sherman Medium Tank and our M26 Pershing Heavy Tank. Both of these tanks were used during World War 2, but the Pershing was only used towards the very last days of the war, and only some 20+ examples were used in that war.
For our North Korean KPA and Chinese PLA factions, they will be using some other tanks made famous in World War 2 produced by Soviet Russia. First up we have the T34/85 which will be serving as a heavy Tank for those factions. For our Tank Destroyer, we have the SU-100 Tank Hunter, which is packing a 100 mm anti-tank gun.
Last, but certainly not least, we have our heavy machine gun emplacements to show you! The UN will be using the M2 Browning .50 Caliber Machine Gun which was used extensively throughout the 20th century and even modern conflicts.
Developed right before World War 1 and used for many years later, the Maxim 1910 Heavy Machine Gun will be utilized by our KPA and PLA factions. These were shared with the Communist countries by Soviet Russia.
Before we go, we want to show a few screens from our close quarters Infantry only map Pork Chop Hill. This map focuses heavily on trench warfare which is what the Korean War devolved into during much of the last year of the conflict. Where it was largely a stalemate echoing the horrors of World War 1.
As always, we are looking for extra helping hands for the mod! If you can provide any assistance at all, please contact Anthony817.
Until next time!
Few questions
Will there be an M2 Carbine
Is the AI ok
Will there be a map with Chinese troops
Yes, yes and yes.
Moddb.com
awesome work guys :D
YES! Keep it going, I cant wait to play this!
Thank you! We just got permission from the visual effects guy who worked on BGF, PR 1.0 and Squad, Bruno himself, to use all his old effects from PR, so you can be sure graphically we will shoot for the stars.
Realism wise, we are somewhere in between PR and FH2. In fact when we disbanded years ago, we donated most of our stuff to PR, and they ended up getting our Mosin Nagant, and sniper version, as well as our PPSH41, DP-28 and a lot more. In fact PR:WW2 already redone most of the animations on our original weapons, so we re-added them back and as such most of our weapons are already up to PR standards.
We have lots of recoil on our weapons, and they are all fairly powerful. However, we do have zoom values more like FH2, and some other things are a bit toned down compared to PR.
Where we are similar to PR, is our weapons, as we created the models, but they fixed them up and improved them. We also require a full crew to operate our tanks.
Where we are more similar to FH2, should be in the gameplay mostly. We don't have FOB's or anything like that in our game.
I guess you could say, it is more or less like a light cousin to PR, as we do obviously share a lot of DNA with them, and we share a LOT of assets both ways.
I should also mention that IDF mod has also helped us out greatly, and we do share some assets with them as well. We have a great relationship with the IDF team.
If I had any experience beyond making personal mods and changing/adding values I would offer to help. This looks like it'll be a great mod. Too bad bf2 is falling out. At least that leaves the die hards like us left
All of the model is awesome!
I love them so much!
Nice one dude, nice one!
I have questions
No beta release?
Whats the size of this mod if its release?
When will this mod gonna release?
Sorry for my english
Goodluck!!!
Right now we are just focused on getting all the content finished up. We do want to try and get a first release of the mod finished before the end of the year.
So far we don't know if we will have plans for a beta release.
Right now we have a lot of placeholder maps, so that inflates the total size of the mod. The mod is over 3gb right now.
Loving it.
Whenever I play BF2 i spend like 50% of the time inside vehicles, as an engineer or support, helping my fellas with transportation & supply, i'm not a frontline kind of guy. this post made me happy yay
Vehicles play a huge part in the Korean War, so we make sure to have a large variety of them for all sides. We still haven't shown everything we have currently, so there will be more to come in next months update.
where is the download link?
this mod looks very nice!
do you plan to keep it as a "secret" mod until it will be perfect?
Well, we haven't released it yet as it is still unstable, and we don't have all subsystems fully operational. i.e. HUD icons, tank sights/alternative munitions ect. Once we finish those things, and get a few more things polished up, we will release.
We do want to try and release the mod by December 25th.
Going by your user name, I hope you will be VERY happy to see all of our Soviet Russian weapons! I love them all and I hope you will as well!
