With the demise of THQ, questions arose about the fate of the Warhammer video game license. One of those has been answered today, as Slitherine today announced a deal with Games Workshop to create a game based on the Warhammer 40,000 universe.Few details about the game were revealed, but development is already underway, and it will be a turn-based strategy game released for multiple platforms. A strategy specialist known for series like Close Combat and Panzer Corps, Slitherine has said it has its best talent devoted to the project.Games Workshop has been busy on the licensing front of late. Earlier this week, the company announced a deal with Zattikka to create tactical free-to-play games based on the Warhammer 40,000 brand. Last year, it announced a deal with Sega's Creative Assembly studio to produce multiple games based on the Warhammer fantasy license. It also has a new adaptation of the Talisman board game in the works at Nomad Games.UPDATE: A Games Workshop representative contacted GamesIndustry International to provide a comment on the company's new less exclusive approach to licensing."The days of monolithic Warhammer or Warhammer 40,000 licenses on all platforms are behind us," the representative said. "In the future, games based on our properties will be platform and subject specic, which is great news as it means there are far more opportunities than before." --- awaiting spacehulk game = Space Hulk - About --- also movie in the making = Home | The Lord inquisitor, a Warhammer 40000 animation --- and hope they will release dark millenium mmo or single player game. written on 18-3-2013 if anybody got more news post it here.
