After an extruciatingly long wait, the much-anticipated Far Cry SDK has been released to the public. Both fans and modders alike have been kept waiting by numerous legal discussions and bickering between Ubisoft and CryTek. The SDK file is 27 MB in size, and can be downloaded from FarCryHQ, File Shack, 3D Gamers, or the official Ubisoft FTP. Furthermore, crymod.com, the CryTek modding portal, has become active and will become an excellent reference for FarCry modders. Be sure to jump in and download the SDK!
Here is the release statement from the Official FarCry website:
"Crytek and Ubisoft announce the release of the CryENGINE™ MOD SDK for Far Cry™. The CryENGINE™ MOD SDK features a set of tools comprised of exporters, plug-ins, and source code which allow users to modify their Far Cry™ experience by importing new content such as models and animations into the game. The 27 MB download includes fully-documented instructions and will provide users with their first opportunity to create "Total Conversion" mods with CryENGINE™ technology."
