GameSpot is reporting that classic game programmer Silas Warner died on Feb 26 after a extended fight with kidney disease. He was best known as the designer of Castle Wolfenstein, which was the first game to use a simulated voice as well as being the major influence to id Software's debut first person shooter Wolfenstein 3D. A memorial service will be held on March 28; the article has details on that as well as on where donations in Warner's name may be sent.
