We have breaking news from 1 of our reporters that tensions are rising and war is imminent.
Yesterday the course of history was forcefully altered as two super powers collided. The Soviet Siberian Guard and Western Armour Division began hostilities yesterday in a pre-emptive battle to test each others’ strength. Through the day both sides struggled to maintain control of the active war zones. The ground forces were promptly greeted with a new terror that was unleashed on the advance initially named Operation Aqua,
The GCSI Acula.
The Acula is a new cutting edge submersible APC capable of passing enemy lines underwater and emerging from the depths unleashing a trio of machine guns, anti-air missiles, and a multipurpose gun all wrapped up in a formidable package. Through the fight the Acula was used as a stealthy yet powerful way to avoid entrenched enemies, and then bombarded the roofs of building containing infantry desperately trying to maintain their position. When the conclusion of Operation Aqua came about, all that could be seen in this watery grave was broken soldiers blasted from the rooftops and defeated APCs, Groundhog, Romanov, and Acula alike.
In the second spark of this conflict another daring operation was underway, Operation Smoke Screen. As the WAR and SSG forces rushed into the area, they made their first priority setting up their base shields; this would protect their base of operations from enemy fire and entry from hostile infantry. Once the shields were up, armour and aircraft were airdropped into the area to prepare for any conflict. There was a degree of relief among the infantry, for the Wraith bomber, legendary in its ability to decimate armor, has been retired with the coming of a new aircraft,
The Firefox.
The Firefox is a bomber-class aircraft boasting faster-firing unguided missiles than the Doragon or Talon, and a faster-firing machine gun than the Aurora. However, the Firefox’s ace-in-the-hole weapon is its miniature nuke that was waiting to unleash hell on the battlefield. Although the infantry were relieved with the passing of the Wraith, they were unprepared and not at all expecting the firepower on this new Firefox, and so it became a fresh bane of ground forces.
This quick and painful conflict was over with both sides having taken losses. The SSG fought hard and adapted to the WAR’s strategies, however the advantage of numbers allowed WAR to push back the SSG and claim victory over the demolished lands. WAR has started the momentum of this war; however it is unclear where the tides of conflict will turn next. Will the WAR be able to continue their momentum and defeat the SSG in the first battles of Campaign 5? Or will the SSG regroup and overcome their enemies?
Help decide the next battle! Pick up your gun and join the conflict today!
Doesn't seem like an all too serious mod. Nothing wrong with that but Moddb has seen far too many bunch-of-cool-stuff-thrown-together-mods over the years, in my opinion. Don't end up there, no one will play the mods if you do.
Also, those textures are horrific.
To give this comment a little less negativity: Good luck.
It's not just "thrown together". Thrown together doesn't alter the whole experience, and Conflict changes the way you look at Vanilla2142 for good. I know, and many does too.
It's a tournament mod, when you see the "bunch of cool stuff" it's actually all for different factions, it's a dynamic player generated story. The outcomes of each officially held battle are documented into the story of the mod.
Sorry for the pictures but my first time post new information i have new ones coming and Gongong we have been going for neally 3 years as a tournament and have nearly 30 v30 players every Saturday and this our 5th campaign so we are going strong, but thanks anyway.
