The first topic is… magic. The update, for which the synchronization of magic is the biggest change, was issued! We are recommending downloading the full installation package, because automatic update can bring problems with strings. Of course, you probably already know it, this update is not only a synchronization of the magic, but also, heatlh/mana points regeneration (and degeneration), new installer, chat from a distance and a lot of other changes… In order to get to know the all changes, best simply play, or read about changes in the instruction of the server.
Our community is also a Magic! Thanks to your votes, Gothic Multiplayer was nominated to TOP 100 in the best Mod of the Year 2011... It is the first modification from the Gothic family which was nominated in the MOTY long history. GMP received the considerable dose of the promotion, by outstanding titles another modifications: Project Reality, Third Age – Total War, Morrowind Rebirth, or Multi Theft Auto: San Andreas. Our dreams come true.

Also, does the new installer recognize the GOG version of Gothic 2 Gold? I attempted to install the client, but it refused to recognize my installation as valid. I would've manually installed it myself (since I found the installer's contents can be manually extracted), but I didn't know where some of what appeared to be key files went (i.e. the code injector, some DLLs whose names elude me, etc.).
You must put files (enter path in the 4 step) onto ex. C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Gothic 2 Gold\, of course C:\Program Files is variable, there also can be ex "D:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Gothic 2 Gold\. Thanks for the votes! Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and nice game :)
I tried that, but it didn't work - no matter where I directed the installer. Any advice on what might be going wrong?
