Status update for Equilibrium of the Night. The update discusses the release, guns and the animations from Project Q.

Posted by KnightofEquulei on Apr 6th, 2013

It's April now and Equilibrium of the Night still hasn't released. I know some of you may think that this has something to do with the merging of the areas and some content from the cancelled mods I was working on but this isn't true. The truth is that, is that we are working on implementing Project Q into Celeritas Eos specifically the animations which allow for NPC's to hug and kiss. Asides from this we have been able to implement guns into Equilibrium of the Night after-all. This means that we need to go through the resources in the mod (crossbows in treasure and shops) and ensure that a crossbow remains a crossbow and has the correct model and not the "bag" model used for objects conflicting with haks.

I have never officially announced Equilibrium of the Night though and don't intend too. As I have said before, the ETA's asked for in the comment section should be taken with a grain of salt. You ask me when it'll be finished and I'll be truthful (based on what I believe) but as the several previous times have shown I have always been wrong. As someone here was put it so eloquently, "sometimes finishing the final portions of the mod takes longer than the creation of all the content in the mod itself" and I can back this up. Well this certainly seems to be the case with me and EoTN.

In any case I've been aware of the grumbles and mumbles people have had. One complained about Victory in War being cancelled but it was only cancelled because it has become corrupted. There was no salvaging to be done. I'm not God so I can't do anything and the fact that Celeritas Eos is my prime focus - modding wise - right now meant that I had no time to start over on the content that was lost with the corruption. Seeing as the universe from the cancelled module series wasn't that vastly different (as based on the suggestion of a colleague months ago) I decided it would be best after-all to merge the two settings into one.

So to conclude this release business, I won't answer any comments asking for an ETA anymore and if I do. Just remember to take it with a grain of salt. If it's not announced in an article then it's simply a belief and nothing set in stone.

But let's not fret about this. As each passes, EoTN grows and becomes a better module. The animations and guns being implemented means that the quality of EoTN improves several times over. Finally we have a new team-member, JM_Scion (creator of July Anarchy and the yet-to-be-released Static) who'll help with quest designing, scripting and writing. This means that EoTN's development will be sped up greatly along with future modules.

And if you're still angry and plan on storming our studios then you better be prepared to meet Lord Fire who is truly a forced to be a reckoned with. Not only is his badassery unmatched in Eridanus but his sexiness is so off the charts that simply staring at him for too long causes one to spontaneously combust. Just look at his self-portrait below (just remember to wear sunglasses)...

Oh and please your compliments for Lord Fire's attire below. He's too busy to read personal mail...

As always we are looking for more help. Because, well the more the merrier.

There's more sexy delicious news for you all. There are new zombie models now being used and not the boring default Bioware ones. You can thank Project Q for this.

Yeah, it's always great to see when the visuals are on par with story and quest design. Can't wait to test the mod myself :)

That's Girolamo you're talking about...

They share the same faces and coat. Girolamo has brown hair though and a brown coat. Lord Fire has red hair, red eyes and a black coat...

They're probably related to each other. I mean, same faces and dress sense? That's no coincidence. Unfortunately the two never meet so there's no scene where they go "Christ! You look like me!" and then begin measuring each other's fashion sense.

"It's good Girolamo, it's good." Lord Fire says as he nods his head in approval at Girolamo's attire. "But it needs more black!"

Lol Lonewolf, oh yes his name is Girolamo. I completely forgot :p

So... Lord Fire is another romancable companion then?

I saw the updated version of zombies. Looking good there... can't hardly wait.

It's really not got anything to do with that. I have real life issues to deal with. Unfortunately as much as I would love to get lost in my RPG's slaying dragons, real life has to come first and what it presents is not always foreseeable even for a intellectual crazy bastard such as myself.

As for progress, well the article still stands, when there's significant progress made then you'll all be the first to know. However since April, asides from the successful implementation of Project Q there's nothing new to report.

"It's June now and Equilibrium of the Night still hasn't released. I know some of you may think that this has something to do with the merging of the areas and some content from the cancelled mods I was working on but this isn't true. I got a new computer so I had to import everything which has slowed things down too but everything is back to normal again." ;) Seriously, though, I know from experience that switching machines can slow the progress considerably because you are sort of forced to take a break and sometimes it's difficult to get back on track.

Sure, no problem, take all the time you need and I hope your issues will be solved. Also saying "Hi, I have nothing new to report" is much better for us than not getting anything at all.
